The monsters....
Next handmade gift was a custom “squishmallow” for my godson! I sent my godchildren a survey to fill out and one of the questions was ‘what is your vibe?’
My youngest godchild put that is a Dapper Chaos Demon, and his wishlist was for squishmallows (but I checked and his mom said he just wanted squishmallow-style things, not brand specific). So I made him a Dapper Chaos Demon Squishmonster! Please note the tiny pocket square.
I found a basic body pattern (I thought it was this one from reddit but now I’m not sure because the darts look a little different? but it was something very similar) and drew out my own pattern pieces for everything else (wings, ears, horns, best, tail, and bow tie). I was determined to machine embroider the face, so it would look more like a ‘real’ squish, and again I SHOULD have used interfacing, because the faux suede is stretchy, and it took dozens of tries--at least I had the foresight to embroider the face and *then* cut out the pattern piece around it. The imperfections are NUMEROUS but I gave up and just wrote them off as part of the chaos. I also designed the tag and printed it on cardstock.
