Formed from heavily eroded shale that was deposited 1.8 to 2.0 billion years ago, on the peaks you cans till see ripples from what it was mudflats at the edge of the much older 2.8 billion year old Yilgarn Craton. this post-fire photo shows much bare soil exposed
