SLIDES SLIPS AND TUMBLES IN HERE, HI I HEARD WE WERE TALKING ABOUT TRIGUN i think a lot about how vash absolutely demolished the trope of pacifist or righteous characters having to use methods opposite their moral codes to defeat their ultimate nemesis. like yeah that trope is catharic as all fuck, especially when the mc's been hurt over and over again by adhering to their beliefs, but trigun felt victorious rather than vengeful. even after he finally had blood directly on his hands, he said you know what. i am going to literally *take care* of my brother. my brother who i love and resent and am terrified of, my brother who i am incomplete without. i will not kill him because i do not want to, even if he has hurt me and so many others, time and again and with the intent to do so. i will not kill him because it is not my right.
LITERALLY the strong belief in this that no one has the right to decide who deserves to live is soo fucking good too. and vash isnt helpless bc of his compassion for others either and thats what makes it so strong too.. you dont have to kill ppl to be strong .
