Don’t Get Down With the Sickness || Open Starter

Open starter!

     For the last couple of days, Scott hadn’t felt like his normal self and it was starting to concern him. It was the middle of football season and they were getting close to their playoff games...and he didn’t want to let his team down by getting sick just when the season was just getting started.

     Sucking on his fourth coughdrop of the hour, Scott could still feel the tickle in his throat, “No no no no! This is baaaad! The team’s gonna kill me if I get sick.”

    Seeing someone walking near him, Scott stopped in front of the person suddenly and grabbed their attention, “Um, hey! Hi! Random question for ya: how do you stop being sick before you even get sick in the first place?”

     Large, pleading eyes shone on Scott’s face as he asked the person he had just stopped.

Sunlight | Open Starter

The sun was in the perfect spot for Oz to head outside and practice some of their drawings. They sat on a dry patch of grass, the blades tickling the small of their back as they hunched over their notebook and began making magic happen. The Quad was a great place to work because it allowed Oz the opportunity to watch everybody and attempt to mimic their postures in their art. But today, as he watched the passing students and teachers, they saw someone drop something.

“Ah.” The single syllable left their mouth as they watched the tiny, glistening paper drop onto the ground, seemingly catching the sun’s rays. They nibbled on their lower lip before scooping up the notebook and shoving the pencils into it. Oz stood up and hurried after the pencil, picking up the tiny paper that fell. “W-w-wait,” they called out, finally catching up to the person. “You dropped this... candy wrapper?”

The familiar words of a popular candy brand caught their attention, and Oz’s cheeks turned red from embarrassment. “I, uh... thought it was important,” they murmured, their voice becoming softer and softer the more he spoke. Their shoulders slumped. This is embarrassing.

A Hard Pitch || Clover and Mei

     Getting his backpack in order, Professor Clover left his office on Stoneheart’s campus and started to walk towards his next class to lecture. It was a Friday so this was his second class to instruct, but it was also his last before he spent his weekend grading the exams that his students had just finished.

     Sighing as he realized how many tests he had to grade, “Well, it could be worse, at least it isn’t midterms yet- OH!”

    Feeling his body colliding with someone else, Clover felt his body contact the sidewalk and the familiar feeling of losing his breath escape his lungs.

    Taking a moment to cough up his lungs, Clover quickly recovered and got up to help the other person, “Hey? You alright there?”

Roll the Dice! || Rapunzel & Varian

Starter for @sundropsmiles​

     A new passion was starting for Varian, and he couldn’t stop talking about it to Lance while on his shifts. While Varian knew that hearing about the same thing over and over again can annoy people and he should calm down with talking about it, but he just couldn’t stop talking about Dungeons and Dragons!

     As he rode the bus to the mall, Varian re-watched the latest episode of Vital Roll, a DnD Twitch show that he had found recommended to him while he was watching another stream, and all of the emotions that he felt when he first watched it came rushing back.

     Feeling his eyes sparkle as he entered the mall, “Maaan! How come I’ve never heard about DnD before!? This game it totally awesome!”

    Varian knew that there was a game store in the mall that sold some DnD things, and his walking pace getting to it was way faster than anyone else. Entering the game shop, Varian quickly darted to the board game section and saw that the DnD section was still stocked up.

     Moving past the random game magazines, Varian darted towards the DnD books. He saved a good bit of money for a couple of the books, so Varian immediately grabbed a copy of the Player’s Handbook, the Dungeon Master’s Guide, and the Monster Manuel.

    Varian noticed someone also looking at the DnD book and couldn’t help but start talking, “U-Um, hey! Are you also a DnD fan?”
