Qrow didn’t mind teaching and coaching, it was a good distraction to everything in his life, gave him something else to completely focus on. Overall, coming to Rockside was the best decision he had ever made, even if his students and athletes gave him headaches.
No there were no downsides to his job. Except for Clover.
Clover Ebi was his opposite. He thought at Stonerock, he assisted the soccer team there, and he was an extremely lucky person. He wasn’t a bad guy, no. He was genuine, kind, loving, and friendly, not to mention extremely good looking. There was nothing that Qrow didn’t like about the guy, but honestly he was just jealous of him. Jealous that this man had all the luck of the world, when the only luck Qrow had was that he hadn’t been fired from his teaching position yet.
Qrow didn’t hate Clover, a part of him wanted more than anything than to befriend the man, but he didn’t want his bad luck to ruin the lucky man. So he did everything he could to push him away but the damn bastard never listened. Just like today when he had decided to join him for lunch despite not having been invited at all.
“What do you want now Ebi. I’m not in the mood.”
It was no secret that one Qrow Branwen didn’t care for him, but there was something endearing about the contempt the other gave him. Clover saw it as a test; a test to see how hard he’d have to go to win over the other man. Qrow would reject his offers of lunch, dinner, and even his number, but that didn’t stop the lucky man.
But it looked like Clover’s luck had finally come through and Qrow didn’t immediately ignore him when he found the other around lunch time.
Smiling, “Awww c’mon Qrow~ You know I don’t want much other than your company.”
Setting down his order, Clover saw and heard that Qrow was not in a good mood, and he wanted to help lighten it. While he was partly egging the other on in a form of banter, Clover did hold feelings for the other man, and he cared for him. So, it was his duty and job to help cheer him up.
Taking a bite of his sandwich, “So, what’s got ya in a bad mood? Students getting on your nerves?”
