i dont make textposts much anymore but i just NEED to get my thoughts out on That One Moment in Touch Me (we all know the one) because theyve been rattling around in my mind like marbles on a hotwheels race track
the staple choreo throughout spring awakening is that one full-body caress that i've dubbed "the masturbation dance" or "the sexual/bodily exploration interpretative dance." to me this dance represents the characters' exploration of their developing bodies and sexualities, hence the latter nickname. (pictured below even though we all know what im talking about, i just really like this stupid fucking gif. what on EARTH is this man doing!!!!!)
so, in touch me, when melchior and moritz do it together during ernst's solo (was there any gayer way to put that?), i take it as a way of showing how melchior is helping to facilitate moritz's ingress to his sexuality and pubescence.
a teensy bit of my interpretation also bases itself off of jgj's acting in the moment, because moritz's little bashful head shake and refusal to acknowledge melchior as he stands behind him and takes the essay out of his hands is VERY telling; on the outside, where he's under constant scrutiny and the topic of sexuality (even beyond that of adolescents) is ineffable, he's scared and ignorant, unwilling to engage with this new part of himself, but melchior is forcing him to acknowledge it. it feels good, and he's intrigued by it, but that's also what scares him, which is why he runs away from melchior, only to rejoin him and the girls at the table moments later.
this is also supported by moritz's choreo come the end of the number: during the big Ensemble Explosion where everybody begins singing and touching themselves (Truly a sentence of all time), moritz is doing it as well, but alone this time, representing how he's become (at least a bit) more comfortable with his sexuality after Melchior's Enlightenment Hour.
basically melchior is moritz's sexual awakening and my interpretation is only 2% less gay than if all the events were literal and they really did pull that shit in melchior's bedroom on a random Sunday or whatever
i find missing kids designs that resemble their respective animatronics a little bit funny because like. was william killing them and going “a ginger kid who likes pirates and wears red stripes! into foxy you go!”
i remembered that back in september i analyzed(?) chip’s merit badges so. have the screenshots from the tiktok (it’s all under the cut so that my fnaf followers don’t gotta look at it)
Hello, listen, I don't remember if you've already answered this question or not, but in your AU, why did William put on a Springbonny suit at the sight of ghosts? Like, to show that he's one of them, or to scare them???
he did it in an attempt to assert dominance over the kids. he even grabbed the same axe he used to kill them to try and intimidate them even more. he thought it would work, but the kids had grown “wise” [aka forgot what really happened to them, only that they were looking for revenge] and didn’t back down …..
