Quinn, you look stunning. The ghost of Grace Kelly. Let me know if you get tired of your boyfriend stomping on your pretty little feet all night - I'd be more than happy to cut in.
LIMA, OHIO: A TOWN DIVIDED
“things are rough all over”
It’s 2018, a time when discrimination is frowned upon, and segregation is meant to be a thing of the past, yet Lima, Ohio stands out among the masses and remains divided. Not a single Lima native can remember a time before this; a time before the Greasers – the poor, lower class families – of the South were pitted against the Socials – the wealthier, high-class families – of the North. An unfortunate “tradition” passed down throughout generations, with no amount of change ever proving capable of ridding the town of its divide. Bouts of violence and bigotry have become part of the norm when both sides cross paths.
However, Mayor Smythe – whose loyalty lies with the Socials – intends to try to make the city a "safer, more respectable place.” But at what cost? His views and propositions are against all that is the Greasers. If the Greasers don’t stand their ground and stick up for what they believe, their numbers are sure to begin dwindling, the tight-knit family that they had created with one another bound to be torn apart.
But, now, the tension between the Greasers and Socials is higher than ever, especially among their youth. Interacting with one another on a daily basis has proved to only heighten the animosity. Both sides are only attempting to survive and fight for their own beliefs, no matter how violent the outcome may be.

You're on the other side As the skyline splits in two I'm miles away from seeing you
Jesse had agreed with her. He’d agreed with his stubborn, independent girlfriend that long distance relationships just didn’t work. He’d agreed that going to London to perform on the West End was a once in a lifetime opportunity he had to take. He’d agreed that staying together was just delaying the inevitable. He’d agreed that they’d needed to take this time, while he was in London to focus on their respective careers.
Agreeing with Quinn Fabray had been a mistake.
Opening night was supposed to be the highlight of his career, of his life. It was supposed to be a culmination of everything he’d worked for, everything he deserved. Yet Jesse found himself searching the audience for that familiar face. She’d be there if he’d asked. He knew. He knew deep down she’d suggested the break up for him. He’d known that despite her confidence, she’d needed him to tell her no, to tell her that they could do the distance, they’d make it work.
He hadn’t said it. He’d been a coward.
He shut the door to his dressing room, ignoring the well wishers who were likely at the stage door as he drank the champagne provided by himself. His hands reached for his phone automatically, pressing the call button before he’d had chance to think it through. it was automatic, a physical need to speak to her, to at least hear her voice.
Voicemail. Of course. If he was her, he probably wouldn’t want to speak to him either.
“It’s me. I miss you tonight.” He sighed, reluctant to become too sentimental, to give away too much when as far as he knew, she was happy and content without him. The, I miss you every night, I miss you always remained unspoken. He didn’t dare even speak in into the empty air as he ended the call.
Back to the time, You were lying next to me I looked across and fell in love
Two weeks later and he was in some semblance of a routine. Wake up, resent England and the Queen simply for existing, actively avoid his phone, go to work, come home and go to bed. It was a way of coping for a while, until the last thing on the list. Until he lay in bed, in the small London flat and wished for that familiar body to be lying next to him.
His mind filled with memories, of a smile hidden under a curtain of blonde hair, sometimes reserved, as though she was struggling to hold it back. Those were his favourite, the smiles he coaxed out of her reluctantly. The smiles that he earned. She didn’t give herself away freely, and he’d promised himself a long time ago, that he wanted to earn every part of herself she chose to give.
He sighed, turning on his side as he stared at the pillows where blonde hair should be. His body ached to touch her, his brain assaulted with a slideshow of images. Of blonde hair spread against a white pillow case, of an arched back and a sharp intake of breath. His fingers pressed together, remembering their delicate counterpart clutching his shoulders, half moon indents leaving a reminder for the next morning. He remembered her soft breaths against his chest when she slept, her face serene, peaceful, perfect.
[Text: Blondie] I love you. I can’t just turn it off. [Text: Blondie] This isn’t worth it when you’re not here. He shook his head, staring at the words his weak fingers had typed. He was disgusted as he pressed send, at his own weakness, at his inability to let her move on. He wasn’t sure anymore what success meant when she wasn’t there to share it with. He wasn’t sure how to begin again with someone who didn’t simply know when he’d had a bad day. He didn’t know how to be with someone who wasn’t Quinn Fabray. She’d entered in a whirlwind of poise, sarcasm, bossiness and perfection. She was impossible to forget.
So open your eyes and see The way our horizons meet And all of the lights will lead Into the night with me
It was a clear night, rare in London, as he walked through the park on his way home from work. He lifted his head for a second, glancing at the stars. It was then he thought maybe, maybe she’d be looking at them too. The same as him. They would look at the same sky, they would stare at those lights and realise that they weren’t really all that far apart at all. They would look at the sky in its permanence, in its never changing glory and realise that this situation was temporary.
His love for her was like the stars. Permanent and unending.
He pulled out his phone, shaking his head at how long it’d taken him to figure out something so simple. This time, when he heard the voicemail, he didn’t despair, he spoke clearly. Sure now, that this was the right decision.
“I know what you said. I know you wanted me to disagree with you.” He paused, before continuing, the smile on his face evident in his voice. “I’m doing now what I should have done then. We’re going to be together Fabray, even if that isn’t physically right now. I listened to your words instead of your actions. I let you make a decision that you didn’t want to make.” He laughed, shaking his head. “You don’t get a choice anymore. I love you and I am going to love you even though you’re there and I’m here. Get used to it Blondie, because you don’t get rid of me that easily. I’ll see you soon.”
And I know these scars will bleed But both of our hearts believe All of these stars will guide us home
“on one condition. kiss me.” (St. Fabray pls and yes we should def plot <3 )
“You’re giving me conditions now?” Jesse smirked, stepping closer to the blonde as he wrapped his arms around her waist. “I get the impression you’re used to getting your way Fabray.” He tugged her towards him, her body flush against his own. “Lucky for you, I’m not opposed to this particular condition.” He dipped his head, lips hovering over hers as he whispered against them. “You don’t need to bargain with me blondie, kissing you is not a chore.” He pressed his lips against hers, hands tightening round her waist as he marvelled for the hundredth time how he’d gotten so lucky. Finally, he pulled away, one hand coming up to tuck a stray hair behind her ear. A tender gesture that betrayed his feelings. “Any other conditions? Preferably ones that are clothing optional.”

[Text: Quinn] Do you remember that time I fell in love with a classy blonde?
[Text: Quinn] Me too. Sometimes life is a lie.
