The storm raged outside, making rain drops crash loudly against the windows. Kate couldn't fall asleep, her mind wondering about her whole first day with Felyx. How could such a lovely evening, quite poetic and romantic in the gardens end up with a raging storm out there? Usually, the woman loved storms. She found something quite soothing, fascinating even in them. In normal times, Kate could easily fall asleep by the sound of the rain but tonight she couldn't. Tonight, Felyx was living in her mind. His handsome smile, incredible eyes and beautiful features were all Kate could think about at the moment. The dance both shared in the gardens was the most beautiful moment of her life. After all, Kate never really appreciated learning how to dance, or even getting to know another man. She also never fell in love and could barely describe this feeling. Yet, the woman wondered why she couldn't sleep. Why couldn't she put her mind at rest? Why was she longing desperately for Felyx's arms and presence?
The thunder made her jump slightly. She sighed and tossed the covers, feeling half cold and half warm. Kate was clearly agitated for some reason and she knew she wouldn't be able to find rest. She needed warm milk, something that could make her sleep easily. The cold stone on the floor made her wince, her feet now becoming a few degrees colder. As she stood up, the woman walked straight to the door with the only will of finding the kitchens to make herself this milk she was craving for. Looking down at her night gown, the woman figured that no one would be there. She could walk down those corridors, only wearing that white gown that could easily reveal her curves. Her long hair was untied, wavy.
When Kate opened the door, she looked around to make sure no one was there. However, as she was about to walk out of the room and into the direction of the kitchens, Kate stopped. Her green hues looked up, in the direction of the stairs that would lead her to Felyx's bedroom. She could hear sounds from there, as if he was agitated. Was he having a nightmare? Kate hesitated. A part of her wanted to go upstairs and check on him, but she also figured that he might feel offended that she entered his bedroom in his presence. But what if he was having an issue? Kate shook her head, already dismissing her insecurities, and headed upstairs. The more she approached the room, the more the sound of his groans was louder. The woman stood behind the door and while she raised her fist to knock, she paused. Her heart was pounding, she took a deep breath as she gently pushed the door and entered.
As she looked at Felyx, Kate's heart skipped a beat. She had never seen him in such intimate setting. He was dressed in his armor earlier, looking majestic and intimidating. Now, it was a vulnerable setting. This armor of his was nowhere to be found, only bed sheets covering his toned body.
"Felyx…" Kate whispered as she approached him gently.
Without thinking any further, Kate sat on his bed. Her hands caressed his chest as if she was trying to soothe him. Her green hues looked at him with empathy, worry. The man who taught her how to dance earlier in the gardens seemed to be in great distress. Perhaps haunted by the nightmares of the battlefield. "It's okay…" The woman whispered gently, keeping her hand on his chest. "It's just a nightmare. You are safe…" Her tone was gentle, soothing. Her other hand caressed his forehead, letting her fingers brush his skin before she caressed his cheek and tried to pull him very tenderly out of this nightmare. "It's okay…" Kate repeated herself, looking at him tenderly as she smiled at him. The rain kept pouring, it was quite chilly in the room. "I'll make you a fire again. You must feel cold.." She shivered, realising now that she was wearing this gown that revealed most of her attritubes in front of him.
