This has got to be my favorite scene from this episode, whenever I rewatch it, it makes me wish Clara had another minor appearance somewhere, she was a hoot. And of course Waldo fretting over Johnny because that’s his son!

Just one of the many reasons why I love Waldo and Johnny. And Johnny mentioning “do we have to go through this every week?” Makes me imagine all sorts of banter they get into regarding the classical vs jazz stuff. It’s hilarious because you’ve got Waldo who canonically loves opera and classical, owning a jazz club. I wonder what lead him to that decision? Another thing the series could have touched on.
Johnny is such a smartass and I am here for it. That clapback was on point
This is probably my favorite scene out of the entire episode. Plus, of COURSE Johnny would come straight to him for help, it’s his father figure we’re talking about here. Waldo mentions in Episode 8 that "Johnny's like my own son. If you don't like him, I mean as a person, you don't work here, no matter what happens." And then Episode 18! He yells at Johnny when he gets hurt, and in general gets upset at him when he rarely heeds his advice, which honestly is quite a lot -- he's always insisting that he can take care of himself, and next thing you know he's throwing himself head first into potential danger for a case or a friend. The man just wants the best for Johnny and I wish the writers built on that more.
