On the occasions that she became restless, unable to stay within the confines of the castle any longer due to the whirring of her own mind -- a walk through the city seemed to do her some good.
Today was just such an occasion. Slippered feet take the foreign princess down the steps and away from the castle, onto the typically-busy streets and arched-walkways that made up the city she'd come to know as Barona. Typically busy, but not so much at this point of time; for evening slowly crept over the capital, and those that were still outside were (mostly) shuffling along to get their business done quickly, so as to get home as soon as possible. Stars did not quite light the sky yet, nor did the moon, -- it was still too early for that -- but they would soon become visible, once night fell completely.
But it was not as though she'd notice it; not entirely. So lost within her constantly stirring thoughts, Velvet had not realized that she'd stopped walking; nor did she realize just where her wandering feet had taken her. She now stood on a balcony, of sorts -- before a looming green structure that Richard had called a Valkines Cryas. Another foreign concept to add to the heap that had come with her arrival to this world. At the very least, if she could not remember the details, she'd remembered the name --
"Gloandi."
She spoke just immediately after hearing footsteps approach; her gut telling her that it could only be one person in particular. "'Twas the name you gave it the first time I toured the city, was it not? Though I've seen it many a time at this point, it still does not cease to amaze me. As does much of your kingdom."
Turning on her heel, Velvet turns to face the monarch -- her hood down, thus her face was not obscured by the shadow that it cast on her features. Her expression was mostly neutral, though there were signs of slight happiness in the crinkle of her eyes, and the way her lips turned faintly upwards. If only to mask the unsettled feelings from earlier.
"Your Majesty. If my absence caused any trouble for yourself or for those beneath you, I must apologize. I fear that a bout of restlessness got the better of me; and it was for that very purpose that I left the castle grounds."
She would not speak of the worries that plagued her, however. Best leave him with only his own troubles on his mind. "-- I trust everything is well, besides for the fact?"
