Just some Will Graham being all pretty prince at the Lecters' estate in Lithuania: Secondo
+ Stagman:
Does Will Graham count as a monster fucker
Some kind of wild hannibal au... Something something's going on here!!!
(Can you tell I went overboard with the textured brushes? Naahh you can't)
Alt version on other socialzzz 🫶
therian stag mask for my ghost, pt 2 (antlers, lining, etc)
(pt 1: the face)
// not rly a tutorial, just documenting progress !!
while version 1 of the deer mask was still on, i twisted some wires into a frame for the antlers. i got the wire from the dollar store from a jute wrapped roll i un-jute’d. after bending em into shape i lightly wrapped it in tin foil to make it into an armiture with form. didn’t take a pic of that part tho—
i foam clay’d over that to make the final antlers. then i stood em up for them to dry
when they were dry, I attached the antlers to the head w some more foam clay and propped em up to dry upright.
i didn’t take pics of the ear-making, the inner lining, or felting process, but basically:
for the ears, i cut em out of foam and folded em at the join as i hot glued em on.
for the inner lining, i used black fabric also from the dollar tree, and cut it into pieces to line the inside of the cat mask base nose.
for the head strap, it took me a few tries to get it tight enough around my head that i couldn’t shake the mask off
for the felting, i used singer white felt. i might’ve glued the wrong side down but i can’t tell what side’s stiff and what side’s hairy. it didn’t all go on in one piece, but i manaaged to hide most of the imperfections behind the antlers.
to make it glasses-compatible, i used Raccoonmasks’ tutorial on making a support for your glasses in the mask. i only had overly thick foam so i shaved it down to make it the right size and mostly hidden from peeking thru the eyeholes.
i was really proud of the mask and ready to paint it but something kept nagging me not to… and then i realized the antlers only looked right from the front, they were totally wack from the side!!!
it bothered me so much i literally had a dream abt fixing them, so i cut em off to take off the clay and foil and reangle the antlers.
we re-foiled and foam clay’d the antlers and now they look more accurate in more perspectives! :3
i still have to add inner ear fluff and maybe some extra clay if foil shows thru (this foam clay shrinks a bit when dried). but in a day or so (since writing this on 07/21) it’ll be ready to paint !!!!
Will Graham had felt haunted for some time since that night when he had passed out in the woods, had been attacked by an animal and struck, the last thing he saw was a dark, tall, antlered creature, had defended him. He awoke on the porch of his house.
Since then he feels watched, sometimes he finds on the porch of his house some "gifts": fish, deer, flowers and wreaths.
Everything was confusing at first, he was afraid, but little by little he got used to this presence, his dogs were not afraid of him and did not reject him either, he knew he saw him in the darkness of the forest when he saw his dogs looking at the forest and wagging their tails as if they saw a friend.
He must admit that after a while, these courting gifts seemed very cute to him, he can't tell if they are actually courting, but he is very flattered.
The next time he has him around, he will confront him to find out what this creature really intends.
