While the Weather's Fine
Just before I put up a few sport-related blog postings, I thought I'd share images from a short venture out through the Stainburn/Norwood forest on the edges of Nidderdale.
It was early and the sun was blanketed in a lot of cloud...but at the same time, it wasn't raining, it was warm-ish, and there was next to no wind.
I'd planned the route, ensuring that I wouldn't take a wrong turning and end up lost...something I am prone to doing when I go out exploring.
I must admit, this was one of the best trips out I'd arranged since the pandemic hit...and I thoroughly enjoyed taking in a new route that I've never been down...given that it is so close to home.
The views are simply breathtaking over Nidderdale and at some points you can genuinely believe that you are the only person for miles (although that isn't really true).
At points, the light on the landscape was epic...not a word that I use often, but it was just superb at certain points on the 14 mile journey.
It took just over the hour to get around the route and return home...and so much fun, that I've already started to plan the next off-road trek!
