Alaska and Neal never go to bed angry with one another, but if Neal ever seems in a bad mood before going to sleep, Alaska scrawls love notes in marker on his skin, for him to wake up to.

When Alaska's pregnant and hormones are messing her up, Neal writes love notes from the baby on her stomach for her to wake up to.

When Alaska is pregnant with Alice, Mads asks Alaska what the strange white marks on her skin are. She tells him that her stretch marks are love notes he, Luke, and Alice left her, when they couldn't otherwise talk. She later tells Neal they're her favorite type of scars; the kind that never symbolized pain, but the love "scars and all" represented for them.

After Alaska tells Mads that, he asks if he can write a love note to Alice

Idea I'm probably going to forget: Alaska uses their old scavenger hunt game to tell Neal she's pregnant.

When Alaska is pregnant with Fletcher, Alice accidentally uses Sharpie to write Fletch love notes. Alaska is unable to immediately wash it off and still has the scribbles on her skin when she goes into labor, which gave her nurses a laugh.

Alaska reads a different book to each baby bump (and she owns those gorgeous Barnes and Noble classics, of course). Alice in Wonderland to Mads, Star Wars to Luke, Peter Pan to Alice, and Sherlock Holmes to Fletcher
