Every word we’ve ever come up with has been used to abuse people. I’ve heard gay and lesbian and homosexual as insults infinitely more than I’ve ever heard queer. (I don’t think I’ve ever heard queer as an insult in real life, just books and movies.) That doesn’t mean that no one else has, but it’s incredibly frustrating to me that the most inclusive word is the one that everyone draws the line at.
If it’s upsetting you, you should block it. You should take care of yourself and your own mental health and put that first.
But telling me how I identify is a slur and invalid is also pretty gd upsetting to me.
