Amos and Naomi were playing the 'get low, get kisses' game. They were both being stubborn, so nobun got kisses.

I didn't want any sore losers (stalematers?), so I gave both of them noogies and told them to go play a different game. They settled on 'take a nap', so I guess everybun wins!

LotG Bible: "Stalemate"

tfw when you start playing out a scenario for an episode that doesn't/will never exist in your head because you decided to finally try to create a reboot/remake Land of the Giants series bible and it won't leave you alone so you try to recreate the tone of the "episode"

in which inspector kobick (the big guy) has meant to have lured in the entire spindrift crew and ship but only managed to trap captain steve burton (little guy) into a shipping container, which is fine by him because one little person/human is better than none

"stalemate" is the tentative name for what i call the "blatant excuse for a bottle episode" episode, where the primary focus is kobick and steve in a shipping container with limited light, space, and almost no cover for steve. which was the point, kobick has been planning this for a long time and will drag it out as long as he can

it would be atmospheric as fuck, let's just say. if you could see it as it is in my head, you'd get it. and here is but a small piece of it

is it worse there's another bit i'm also trying to work on that involves even worse attempts at perspective than this? but would also be made into a gif if i can do it right?

it still melts my heart every time i get a comment or message about stalemate. im always touched when people share kind words about my fics but with this one in particular, the comments have been so generous and earnest. i dont think i can encapsulate how much they meant to me. they're a huge part why i was able to finish writing that fic. stalemate wasn’t rlly easy to write bc racism is never an easy theme and 3344 is already a complicated ship to begin with. i also didnt have much to lean on for inspiration since not many fics explicitly dive into the struggles lewis faces in the sport and with other drivers (which has to change because you can't write lewis and just ignore that he's black). lewis’ race and the reality of his situation were such an integral part of the story and i kept wondering if i could execute it with honesty and still make space for the fictional side of things. that's why stalemate feels like a thesis. while eilgohcmoi is a very self indulgent fic, i consider stalemate as my love letter to lewis. and it’s one of the most important fics i’ve ever written. so a BIG thank you to everyone who supported it 🥹

the entire idea behind my interpretation of the Emperor's fixation on Stelmane is that I fully believe it was so into her that it unwittingly put a collar around its own throat and didn't realize it was just as chained as she was until it was too late
