Comparing my two favourite ships
Because I’m stupid.

Basically, a rant.
There are a few parallels between franticshipping/RuSa and NekuShiki. It's funny. The characters in both ships aren't the same in terms of personality, especially Neku and Ruby. While Sapphire can have a similarity with Shiki, her "jealousy" is actually the product of insecurity.
Though, there's one parallel I'd like to point out. For NekuShiki, he didn't like Shiki at first but he liked her eventually once he saw the real Shiki. For Ruby and Sapphire, it's very similar. While they immediately hit it off in their first meeting as children, they didn't hit it off on their second meeting. In fact, Ruby and Sapphire never actually learned how to appreciate one another until they spent their time in mirage island. Even before their confessions, they already started growing feelings for each other during their training on mirage island. Sapphire confessed to him before they faced Groudon and Kyogre whilst Ruby was forced to agree with Courtney's offer just so the orb wouldn't control Sapphire. He would rather let the orb control Courtney than Sapphire. And as we move forward, you can clearly see in ORAS that not only their feelings for one another grow but they're also the best of friends. It's such a beautiful relationship that I would never shut up about and no matter what ships I see, I will always remember Ruby and Sapphire's relationship.
I also noticed another similarity between NekuShiki and franticshipping/RuSa: Their character development depends on each other. For NekuShiki, Shiki learned to accept herself thanks to Neku and Neku learned how to open up with people. [His entry fee in the next games made so much sense. Pre-week 1 Neku wouldn't do that] For RuSa, Ruby and Sapphire learned to accept their past and current selves thanks to each other. Sapphire learned to appreciate the city and the things that Ruby likes. On the other hand, Ruby also learned to appreciate nature thanks to Sapphire. Ruby and Sapphire's character development are co-dependent with each other. Removing the other and separating them would just make Ruby or Sapphire just bland characters. But, together, they're in their maximum potential.
