MoYou London Botanical Collection SS19
This April, MoYou London have brought out a new Botanical Collection which I am absolutely crushing over ! It features little bees, beatles, butterflies as well as succulents, flowers and foliage. The designs reminded me of a recent trip to the Natural History Museum where I read about floral illustrations and how they were used before cameras to help us identify various plant species. Anyone who knows me knows I love plants and I think this collection will be really popular as it has a little something for everyone.
Botanical Plate 04 (above) is probably my favorite in the range. Featuring insects and flowers which stamp easily I’ve had a little play at creating a fun, but not too pastel manicure :
Above I used the new Botanical Plate 04 to create layered effects with coloured backgrounds behind the stamping images. The easiest way to get this effect is to pick up the stamping design on the stamper head (I like the MoYou Crystal Clear Stamper) , then use a small brush to fill the design in with the same colour, allow this to dry and then stamp it onto a nail which has just had No Smudge Top Coat painted over the nail. Finish by stamping the design image back over the shadow image with a bolder colour like MoYou Black Knight :
For this look I used MoYou Lady Pink as a background shade , then used various shades including Glacier , Party Pink, Black Knight & John Lemon to play around with this effect :
If you’re new to stamping and find it a bit challenging - do not worry ! MoYou have also created another Botanical Plate (03) which already has the imprint background colour designs laid out :
For this look I first painted the nails with two layers of the shade Glacier. I then stamped the background image of various succulents using the shade Hello Absinthe, then I dotted a few blobs of colour onto these designs using the brush heads of the shades Bubblegum & Rosy Ribbon, followed with a final stamp of the actual succulent illustration design on top for definition. I then used No Smudge Top Coat to finish the look :
This new collection is so easy to work with , the stamps pick up really well and I think this might actually be my favorite MoYou collection so far! You can find all products used at www.moyou.co.uk
