Chris Stamp Blog Update (160913): “Ty & Gd For Stampd | Preview”
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of meeting two very inspiring artists from a part of the world that, at the time, I had few friends from. I’d always known Korea was a place of great culture and style, but when I came across Taeyang and G Dragon I had a new found respect.
Tae and GD had a few tour dates in Los Angeles, and while here I invited them down to the studio. We chilled, went through the collection, had laughs, and there was an immediate energy in the room you only experience when aesthetics align. There was something between us that made sense. It was a vision meeting a certain taste level. We talked about doing something together that would encompass both their personal style, as well as embody the Stampd direction. After a few hundred emails back and forth, meetings with stylists, managers, and a trip to Paris and Japan, the collection was born.
Over the next month we’ll be releasing the TY & GD for Stampd capsule collection.Below(Photos above) are a few initial sketches we put together based on the early silhouette renderings…
