And I am taking a Stanford Engineering Course...
Quite a few days back I got to learn about this great initiative by Stanford Engineering where there are putting 3 of their best Computer Science/Engg courses as an open to all, online course.
I was super-duper excited, its almost similar to studying in reality, as you have time-bound lectures, assignments and test. You get graded and above all you get a Certificate of Accomplishment from the instructor of the course, who are one of the best in the business.
Getting that certificate is as good as a certificate from Stanford itself for me and I often just imagine how the certificate would look like and how awesome it would be to have it framed on my wall.
I am super-duper excited.
The lectures and assignments of "Introduction to Databses" course are already online[ of the first week course], though the course starts from 10th of October 2011.
I have registered for this class and studying the lectures and reference material since yesterday.
For your information, if yesterday, you would have asked me about the correct definition of "Data", I would have had a very difficult time explaining it. So I am a complete novice to it.
But then, its worth all the effort I guess...
