Monster High: Flower Talk

Title: Flower Talk

Note: Done for standingonthewall as part of the Monster High secret santa. I hope you enjoy this little drabble. And have a happy holiday :)

She was crouched down in front of a small, pink flower. It’s petals were still closed but close to opening. Venus was so fixated on the flower she didn’t notice Operetta approach at first.

“What are you up to, hon?” Operetta asked. “If you don’t skedaddle soon you’ll be late for class.”

“This flower is so close to fully blossoming. It just needs a little nudge.” Venus said, her eyes still fixated on the flower.

Operetta thought of heading off to class on her own and let Venus handle this herself. After another moment she made a decision.

“How can I help?” Operetta asked.

Venus looked up from the flower long enough to look at Operetta

“Plants grow better when you talk nicely to them.” Venus said.

Operetta looked to the flower a bit more as if trying to contemplate it more. After a moment she thought of something.

“Think it’ll like some singing then?” Operetta asked.

“I’m sure that would help too. Though try not to-”

It was too late. Operetta opened her mouth to sing but accidently let loose with a wail that made the flower sway. The flower tilted to the left in a slightly alarming manner. Venus gave Operetta a glare.

“Sorry hon. Didn’t mean to do that. I’m really, really sorry.” Operetta said.

Venus sighed deeply. As upset as she still was it was clear Operetta truly didn’t mean to do it. Venus gently took the steam of the flower between two fingers to see if the damage could be fixed. After a moment of thought she looked back up at Operetta.

“It can be saved, thankfully. It just needs a bit of extra care.” Venus said.

There was a moment of silence as Venus continued to fuss over the flower.

“I don’t suppose you mind me trying to help out still. Is partly my fault.” Operetta said.

Venus glanced up, looking unsure just a moment. Finally she slightly smiled and said

“Sure. But how about this time you hum?”

Hello! I did the shots of Apple on allthetinyhumans. The people working there were actually interested in what I was doing and gave me suggestions on places to get good shots! Disney folk are great. :)
