I think more teachers should take note of Mr. Feeny.
He was inspirational, clever, caring, understanding, and a friend. He asked the students what THEY thought, not what they were supposed to think. The kids in his class didn’t spit out answers because they had to, they gave him answers from their hearts. Mr. Feeny believed in discussion, not book work. There are few things I can honestly say I love about high school, but one of them was a class where we simply sat around and discussed politics and opinions and thoughts instead of writing down pre-copied answers from some dull PhD.
Mr.Feeny, you were good, real good, and I truly think that if more people took notice of how he taught, actually taught, the education system would be improved just a little bit.
