From Midtown Manhattan to Anchorage, Alaska — and in numerous state capitals — thousands of demonstrators rallied against President Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, criticizing their efforts to downsize the government and their policies on the economy, immigration, and human rights. On the West Coast, under Seattle’s iconic Space Needle, signs read “Fight the oligarchy,” as crowds gathered in protest. Meanwhile, in cities like Portland and Los Angeles, chants filled the streets as marchers moved from Pershing Square to City Hall.
Protesters expressed outrage over the administration’s decisions to lay off thousands of federal employees, shut down Social Security field offices, dismantle agencies, deport immigrants, reduce protections for transgender individuals, and slash healthcare funding.
