Together we can STOP Child Labour! 🛑✋

Child labour is a violation of human rights and can have detrimental effects on the physical, mental, spiritual, moral, or social development of children.

It often involves long hours, dangerous working conditions, and little or no pay. Children who are forced to work like slaves and often denied the opportunity to attend school and receive an education, which can lead to a lifetime of poverty and hardship. 🏫

Child labour can also perpetuate the cycle of poverty and social inequality. Therefore, it is important to stop child labour to protect children and promote their well-being.

Note: All work done by children under the age of 15 and dangerous work done by children under the age of 18 is illegal.

Child labour exists because: ⇾ People accept it and often invent excuses for it. ⇾ Children’s rights are not accepted. Governments fail to provide compulsory, free, and accessible education. ⇾ International agreements and conventions are ignored. ⇾ The education system fails to include poor and vulnerable children. ⇾ Companies worldwide demand cheap labour. ⇾ Countries can benefit from cheap labour. ⇾ Children are a soft target for a helping hand. ⇾ We have not done enough to stop it.

This Is Us

This is us The generation that represented hope They thought they could use us to be the future We represented what could be

This is us  The generation that grew up with parents That decided we could learn on our own The children that saw the generation above us  And decided that we had no hope

This is us The generation that grew into education And realized we had no chance at all We realized the world was against us And all that we had was ourselves

This is us The generation with no time to ourselves With hours at school to bring home hours of work Expected to have a life

This is us The generation of anxiety, depression, and pain We had no more help from those we once trusted Instead we were turned away

This is us The generation of cat-scratches and bruises Of 'I swear I'm not hungry' and 'I'm fine' We said we were tired No one bothered asking what we were tired of

This is us The generation that learned not to sleep That evolved to not require certain things to survive We learned how to lie and say we're okay We learned that no one truly cares about you Or anyone else on this godforsaken earth

This is us The generation that struggled to love Struggled to trust, to care, to live We survived for so long, we don't know how to live To take time for ourselves is a foreign idea Lost to the papers and projects We forgot time and only read in due dates

This is us The generation that taught ourselves to love And realized, it doesn't matter who you love Love is hard enough to find these days Once you see it you take it and you keep it You don't let go of it And we learned not to judge others for who they loved either

This is us The generation that doesn't care what you look like And doesn't care how you talk What matters is the kindness of your soul And the space in your heart

This is us The generation who was told 'You cannot do that' Yet we were given no explanation why We asked 'Why?' and were told 'Don't question.' We tried to push for our rights But in return they were taken away

This is us The generation that was told 'It is okay, You fight for what is right and let no one say no' Yet when we stood up for ourselves Those same people who taught us Were the ones to say no

This is us The generation called stupid and dumb Incapable, for using the tools given by our elders They broke us down further And tried to say we would never survive

This is us The generation that's finally had enough We decided we would accept no more We have banded together We will stand for what is right

This is us The generation who learns Who learns how to riot To defend the defenseless To protect the unprotected

This is us The generation who uses our power for kind Who speaks for those who can't Who runs for those who walk Who stands where others have fallen

This is us The generation who accepts all Whether he, she, they, or other Whether we love man or woman Non-binary or in between

This is us The generation who finally stood up The children who said no more

This is us We are the last generation We will fight until we are no more We will not back down We will stand as we say

Defend daca

Dreamer students do not recieve fincial aid(fasfa) most of us are paying of college out of our pockets , some of us have received scholar ships. Dreamers have work permission . As a dreamer i work full time trying to save up for college and working on my driver license. I did alot of community service hours at barton elementry as a tutor for kids. I want to go to pbsc and go into their criminal justice program

I been in the U.S for 18 years.

Dreamer students can apply for citizenship at age 21

Don't say "you had so much time" applying for citizenship takes time and isn't easy

What exactly is DACA? President Barack Obama created DACA through a 2012 executive order. The program has allowed hundreds of thousands of young people who were brought to the United States illegally as children to remain in the country. Applicants cannot have serious criminal histories, and must have arrived in the U.S. before 2007, when they were under the age of 16. DACA recipients can live and work legally in the U.S. for renewable two-year periods.

Take a stance with me

This month we are bringing awareness to sex trafficking.  This is a growing problem here in the United States! Not just in the US but nationally 4.8 million men, women, and children are trafficked for sex.  Our plan is to bring awareness to our community and raise money to help fund special education for our teachers to learn what, who, and how sex trafficking effects our community. With the growing number we need to start reaching our younger population on how to protect, watch, and teach our most vulnerable.
