Winter Camping Gear
Camping gear differs significantly depending on the weather and continuing on my quest to turn you into a winter camper, check out my essentials for winter camping. Your sleeping bag is essential and one of my favorites is the Slumber Jack Sleeping Bag, with an extremely hot insulation and available in two different degree variants. I suggest instead of the 0-degree bag to buy the -20 degree bag and you will never feel the cold. I also buy a sleeping pad regardless of the sleeping bag and some like the NeoAir sleeping pads are all weather thus saving you money on having to buy two separate pads for different weather conditions.
Sleeping and hiking as well as fishing with your face and neck protected is one of the great tips you will thank me for. I suggest the Cyclone Buff as the recommended choice as they are quick-drying, moisture wicking and breathable too. Layering with a jacket and underclothes is key to winter warmth and survival in extreme cold. When you keep in mind that when you are too hot you can at least take some off while when you are hot you remain hot. That is something I love about cold weather, I simply invest in good long sleeve shirts, jerseys, and jackets.
Investing in a great thermos flask especially the Stanley Classic is another recommendation. This model is leak proof, BPA free and even has a mug. Buying outdoor socks and excellent quality boots such as the Bugaboot Original Trail and I guarantee your feet will remain warm.
