so i downloaded stanley's parable and i might or might not have pirated. and the wrath i have faced for it was the first choice room, the OG left or right room... was not there. the corridor instead ended in a greyish stub. my partner (who convinced me to play and knew how it's supposed to go) was laughing their ass off. it was so funny in retrospect, that i finally got on this hell site.

So like, if you haven’t played it. DO IT! it’s only sale for $3.74 on steam and its fuckin’ great. just go for it. like really!!!!

The Beginner's Guide

Please do not read unless you played the game!

Okay so I watched a play through, personally I am glad about that. The Letsplayers didn't always speak, but I felt less alone. I think I could not handle this game alone, I already teared up through the course of the game a few times. But the ending left me entirely.. Empty and filled up with thoughts at once. 

 I was both people in my life. Coda and Davey. In relationships with others, and with myself. Especially considering blog entries from Davey, I think he and Coda are two people of the same person.. There are a few hints to that in the game. 

The "games" inside the "game" are all dialogue with themselves, while the actual game feels like a dialogue with himself too. The fact that the games were supposed to be deleted, but he still played them. That some phrases he uses to describe Coda he used in an old blog entry to describe his relationships with his fans and critics. But a thing I find most fascinating is that the actual message of the game is "don't over analyze others" and "don't use others creativity for your own gain". At least to me it is one of the messages. And here we are, critics on the internet profiling themselves over writing critics of his game. Sometimes ripping into it, calling it bad and too artsyfartsy. Making it about them and their opinion.. A thing Davey did to Coda.. 

 This game has so many possible interpretations, I can not stop to come up with them. It touched me so deeply and in so many different ways that it kind of even feels like some kind of violation. It was a great experience, horrifying, amazing, thought provoking and all that. 

 I hope Davey defeated depressions, I hope he comes in touch with his inner Coda again, if the interpretation of them being the same is right. 

 I feel bad for interpreting this game, while at the same time it asks to be interpreted.. It's all so meta it is horrifying.
