It was great meeting Mr. Gates and shaking his hand as he comes through Stanly County on his journey across America. If you haven't heard of his journey, Mr. Gates is walking across America at the age of 71 with a 60lb cross on his back. He accomplished this very journey at the age of 39. He left Fort Fisher March 15th and aims to reach Malibu Beach in about a year and a half.
