SSO Concepts pt 3: Baileland

a concept for a foggy, mysterious landscape similar to the irish and scottish country side that is made very special by the strong draft horses bred to work the land.

     Home to hardy work horses, Baileland is a quaint countryside location that seems ever so dismal. It is constantly thick with fog, and it rains often. Stone walls separate fields that back onto small family farms and cottages. Some of the fields contain sheep and highland cows. In the center of it all is a huge castle, which is home to the horse sales in the central yard. Baileland is also well known for its crops which require strong horses to work the fields. Here, is where some of the strongest horses are bred. Percherons work the fields, pulling plows and harvesting carts. The land here is rich from the moisture, making it the perfect breeding ground for lavender fields that span far and wide. The stone walls make hunting a popular sport amongst riders here, and newcomers are welcome to take out the hounds and try their hand and their horse at a hunt around the village.

SSO Concepts pt 1: Sundelan

Here is my newest project! I will be making some concept art for places that I think would be cool to have in game! Starting first with a desert location: Sundelan.

The key to this place, is not just the unique landscape, but the horse that comes with it: The Marwari.

The vast desert land of Sundelan are hot and unforgiving. The village here is full of wonder. The people here sell many items under the Bazar. From clothing especially designed for the sand and the sun, to trinkets and spices. However, outside the village is a desert not for the faint of heart. It is home to deadly snakes and little shade. If you dare to trek this land, you should prepare yourself with plenty of water to last you until your next destination. Luckily, this land has the perfect horse for such travelers. The Marwari horse was carefully bred for hundreds of years by the Sundelan people. This breed of horse is very hardy, with strong hooves and can withstand the extreme temperatures. They have extremely good stamina and can go for long periods of time without water which is ideal for the Sundelan landscape.

SSO Concepts pt 2: Bosali

My second theoretic sso landscape: Bosali, a wild jungle land for only the bravest of riders.

       Bosali is a widely unsettled jungle landscape. It is very thick with rich lush plants and while it is beautiful, it is dangerous. Rich with life, Bosalil is home to tropical birds and lizard species. This place also has many wild rivers and waterfalls. The secret this place holds however, is below its surface. Behind the biggest waterfall is the entrance to a vast cavern system that winds below the ground. Its walls are decorated with precious crystals that light them up with their mysterious glowing properties. These caves are dangerous to explore because it is easy to get lost, however, the views are second to none. In the center of the cave system is an underground lake that is crystal clear, and filled with beautiful fish that also seem to glow. Though it might seem as if you are alone here what with how vast and winding this place is, the odd vagabond or merchant wanders through and may be willing to sell you clothing to help you fit into this place. This wonderful jungle is as beautiful as it gets, but you should probably bring a map with you.
