How about the idea of the reader dating Kylo and she’s from Earth? She tells him the history of the civil war and the two world wars and he finds it al interesting and makes him more protective of the reader.
“Protective Over The Earthling” Kylo Ren x Reader
(A/N: Hi! Thank you for the Request. I know it was back in…December? But I really wanted to take my time on this and figure out how the Reader from Earth could even see Kylo Ren. So I made some changes to Earth’s location and timeline in comparison to the Star Wars saga.
I hope you like it!!!
P.S. I really enjoyed writing a little about Batuu!! Soon we can all visit one day.)

Earth.
Not a common planetary system to hear within the Inner Rim, and not even in the Outer Rim. You were among the few Earthlings that had made it off planet. Able to see the galaxy was a highlight.
A couple of years ago you had caught a ride off of Earth and ended up on Batuu and working in Oga’s Cantina as a waitress delivering food to customers. Meeting Kylo Ren was purely by chance really. Kylo wasn’t one to simply visit a social area and have a drink or eat, which worked out because you were out bartering with a vendor when Kylo and a squad of First Order Stormtroopers entered the area. Stormtroopers weren’t new to Black Spire Outpost, but the First Order’s Supreme Leader being present was another situation entirely. They were on the look out for a known Resistance spy. There was rumor that the spy was indeed in Black Spire Outpost, with this knowledge they figured that the Resistance wasn’t too far behind.
What Kylo did not expect to find was an interest in a woman from Earth. A planet said to be on the edge of wild space as well.
You somehow continued to run into him, see him, discuss seemingly random topics, and cross paths with Kylo while he and the First Order were on Batuu. It seemed all coincidence until your employer informed you to deliver a meal to where the First Order was staying. As it ended up, Kylo Ren wasn’t the sort of person to eat in public. Keeping his mysterious vibe about him more so when he kept on his helmet.
What was supposed to be a delivery of food turned into a long string of conversations. After almost two hours of talking you went into a panic when you realized that you hadn’t been at work. Dread had filled you at that moment. It hadn’t gone unnoticed by the Force-user. Added that you had practically thrown out five excuses as you were heading to the door.
Yet that was not the last you had seen of the man in black.
Two weeks after that and the Supreme Leader of the First Order had requested that you deliver his meals exclusively from Oga’s Cantina. Every day it was like that. Each day you had a shift anyway. Then there was the day that Kylo Ren, the fierce leader of the Knights of Ren, had asked you to have dinner with him.
Six months since the first day Kylo Ren had laid eyes on you, you were living comfortably within the First Order. Days of working hours on end on your tired feet were the past. You were dating Kylo Ren. That first date away from the busy visitors of the planet and being alone with a person who was genuinely interested in you made both of you quite happy.
Now that didn’t mean you didn’t work, you just weren’t waiting on people any more. Keeping Kylo on schedule and not damaging equipment earned you a much better pay.
One of the best perks of having allegiance to the First Order was having your very own quarters. A living space that was yours and yours alone.
Sitting on a lounge piece, you were more than enjoying the peace and comfort of spending free time with your boyfriend. Simply talking with one another was good for him. In your opinion, Kylo really needed positive socialization.
The conversation ranged from food to droids to eventually your home planets. That was when things became…in a word…deep.
“So Earth wasn’t warring with another planet?”
“Nope. All of the wars were just there. Alone.”
Kylo looked from you to the cold floor. His eyes were unfocused yet clearly deep in thought.
You watched on as his hands tightened into fists.
A yellow flag raised in your mind.
The thought of all of those wars happening on one planet in much less than a thousand years alarmed even him. More so that you had been living on said planet. And those were just the more recent wars you were speaking of, the ones with horrifying images saved to history.
Sitting back against the seat, Kylo’s gaze landed on you with a restrained intensity.
“Is there anything back home that would cause you to return? In the future?”
“No,” you mused over the very thought. “I have no business going back. There’s so much I can do now. Why go back, yah know?”
“Right,” he nodded.
“But why do you ask?”
He shifted his legs.
You looked over at him fully when he didn’t answer right away.
“What is it?” You asked, scooting closer to him.
Letting out a puff of air he looked directly your way.
“Earth sounds more dangerous than anything I’ve gone through. More than anything I’ve heard stories of before. You shouldn’t have to be put anywhere close to that level of danger. ….no matter how interesting.”
“Isn’t the First Order at war with the Resistance?”
“No. They’re weak and disorganized. This isn’t a war.” Kylo gently took your hand in his own. “I wouldn’t risk putting you in the middle of something so destructive and violent. The more you tell me about your home planet’s history the more I want to learn, but….the more I know how small my chances of meeting you were. I won’t risk not being with you because of any conflict. I promise to protect you.”
“You can’t protect me from everything.” You leaned your head against his shoulder.
“There’s still a lot about the Force you don’t know.”
“Yet.”
Kylo smirked.
There was so many things he was waiting to tell you. Things you would had never learned back on Earth. He was more than glad that your home world was too far for casual space travel. Out of everything he wanted to do, this Supreme Leader was determined to keep his promise to you.
