As he sunk into the mattress, Grinlock stared up at the ceiling, caressing his forearm with his other hand to soothe himself. Turning his head to look at the smiling one beside him, static with his hands kept together.
It was evident that Grinlock was having a hard time sleeping compared to Starbi, appearing as if he was a body in a coffin, prepared unprofessionally with the comfortable sleepwear he was wearing.
Letting out a gravely sigh, Grinlock turned his head back up to the ceiling. Silence was a familiar friend to the performer. But despite that, sometimes it overstayed its welcome, bringing along with it familiar, harsh laughs to Grinlock's ears, laughs that only he could hear.
The laughs were, stress-inducing, ones that left the performer unnerved, distressed, and volatile.
Time and time again, Grinlock tried to get rid of these laughs. But no matter how hard he tried in times like these, it would only leave him even more exhausted than he was before heading to sleep. It didn't help that his mask's horns made it difficult to sleep comfortably either.
Grinlock sat up, his shoulders releasing the built-up tension as he relaxed his muscles. Looking around the room, cascading in the absence of light, briefly shivering from the apparent chill of the room.
With the ringing silence sounding out in the room, Grinlock could only grow more unnerved. Though, the performer couldn't help but notice that… perhaps it's too quiet?
Turning his head to glare down at Starbi's peaceful form, the only breathing he could hear was his own.
"…Starbi?" Grinlock muttered.
With his smile unwavering, Grinlock could only get concerned. Starbi's funeral-like form didn't exactly ease the performer either. The performer moved his hand over, placing it on the Starborn's shoulder to gently push him in an attempt to wake him up.
…
But there was no response.
The deafening silence left the performer's eyes to widen slightly, his shoulders tensing up once more as he continued to stare down at the Starborn. Moving his hand away from Starbi's shoulder, Grinlock would use it to break Starbi's hands away from each other to hold his limp wrist. Checking to look for a pulse—or anything— Grinlock was met with a familiar warmth course through the Starborn's arm.
The performer let out a gruff sigh, relieved to see that, at the very least, he wasn't sleeping next to a corpse. Though, as he held Starbi's wrist, he couldn't help but notice how… weightless, Starbi's entire arm felt to hold.
His initial worry now replaced with confusion, Grinlock continued to hold Starbi's wrist. It truly felt like he was holding a balloon in his hand, almost void of air. Sure, it was easy for the performer to pick up Starbi's entire body. But it wasn't as if Starbi was as light as a feather from all the times Grinlock or Starbi held one another.
Grinlock's train of thought was put to a halt as Starbi jolted awake with a sharp gasp of air.
The performer instinctively shifted away from the suddenly sat-up Starbi, his grip on the Starborn's wrist still present. The performer stared at Starbi, seeing him staring down the bed with a blank expression, his eyes shot open, offering a faint glow of light to the room. His chest now rising and falling.
Starbi remained static, the glow of his eyes faintly dimming as he blinked as his eyes looking around the room as if he was looking for something, like he had just remembered something, but couldn't find it.
As the two stayed still in the dimly lit room, Starbi's expression softened, his posture relaxing as he stared down at the foot of the bed with silence, as if he was thinking to himself. A few seconds passed as Starbi would lift his head, turning his head to spot his wrist held by Grinlock. Looking up at Grinlock's face, the Starborn spoke.
"…You okay, Grinlock?" Starbi mumbled, his expression friendly with his mouth curved into his usual smile.
Grinlock stared at the Starborn, his only form of emotion being the surprise in his eyes as he looked at Starbi's wrist, now warm and heavy, then back to Starbi's face. Seeing Starbi shift from a blank demeanor, to one with familiar warmth, concerned the performer a little.
Letting his wrist go, Grinlock looked down at the bed.
"Did I scare you?" Asked Starbi with a cheerful tone.
The performer nodded subtly in response, glancing away briefly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," Starbi replied, looking away as his smile remained unwavering. "Didn't think I'd sleep so well."
Starbi's words were only met with silence. Strangely enough, it resulted in the Starborn's smile to fade.
Turning back to Grinlock, Starbi would turn his hand on its back, offering it to Grinlock. Hesitant, Grinlock accepted it, his grip firm.
"Did something happen before you woke me up?" He asked.
Once again, Starbi was met with silence. Grinlock wasn't sure how he could explain that vicious laughs had kept him awake, nor could he properly communicate how he felt when he thought that Starbi wasn't… there anymore.
"Anything I can do to help?" Starbi asked, shifting closer to the performer.
"…I'm cold," he replied, his voice hazy.
With a smile, Starbi would open his free arm, bringing himself even closer as he let Grinlock wrap his arms around him. Resting against his side on the bed, his chin on Starbi's head, the performer found comfort in his warmth as the two sunk in the mattress with their combined weight. Relaxing his shoulders once again.
Grinlock felt at ease as he let out a relieved sigh. Knowing that for tonight, just for a little while, the laughs were none of his concern as he slept in the warmth of the one he loves.

The two stood upon a rooftop together, the skies dark with clouds looming over the sea of buildings.
"…How do you feel?" Asked Starbi, his voice low and whisper-like as he held the man's hands in his.
Starbi stared up into Grinlock's eyes, his mouth curved with a gentle smile. The hulking performer's hands remained static in the Starborn's hands. His eyes staring back into the Starborn, sending back an answer to him.
"Tired?" Starbi asked, tilting his head, his thumbs gently caressing against the performer's hands, almost like that of a massage.
"…Cold," Grinlock answered bluntly in his gruff voice, briefly glancing away from his piercing gaze as he caressed his hands.
Glancing to see Grinlock's shoulders growing rigid with veiled embarrassment, Starbi's smile softened from this familiar sight.
Looking at Grinlock's averted gaze once more, Starbi could see the performer's eyes to be looking for something he couldn't admit easily.
Letting out a soft laugh, Starbi held one of Grinlock's large hands in his, the sudden gesture prompting the brute to freeze
"Is that right?"
A brief shiver coursed up Grinlock's spine, his gaze wavering slightly as his trembling hand was kept safe in the warmth of Starbi's. With this tepid comfort, he could only want more of this warmth.
With his courage built up, Grinlock finally brought himself to close the gap between the two.
Slowly taking steps forward, Grinlock looked back at Starbi with a softened gaze. Of his own accord, he would gently place his hand on the Starborn's shoulder, bringing him closer. Starbi obliged with a patient smile.
Grinlock raised his free hand, the one left behind by Starbi's warmth, quietly urging Starbi for both of his hands in his. Starbi followed along, placing his right in Grinlock's left.
"…You're warm," Grinlock commented, his grip on Starbi's hands firm with longing.
Even with both of these hands emitting a comforting warmth, the performer still couldn't help but want more of it. But looking at Starbi's eyes, it was clear he was willing to grant the performer's selfish desire.
With the faint drops of rain falling on the rooftop, Grinlock let go of Starbi's hands, as he carefully wrapped his arms around the Starborn. In return, his back was met with Starbi's hands, the two brought together into a snug embrace.
"Happy?" Starbi asked, his head resting against the performer's chest.
Grinlock thought to himself as he looked down, his expression aloof as he stared down at Starbi's head, remaining quiet as Starbi's cowlick brushed between his eyes.
With his embrace growing weak, Grinlock responded with silence.
Starbi laughed, "alright."
In an instant, Grinlock could feel Starbi's body brush up against him. Feeling the Starborn's shoes against the performer's knees, the performer looked at Starbi floating in midair, as if he was taller than the 6'8" Grinlock.
With little hesitation, Grinlock huddled his head in Starbi's warmth. Resting his head in the crook of Starbi's neck, feeling the Starborn's chest rising and falling with every simulated breath taken.
"Better?" Starbi asked, gently caressing the back of Grinlock's neck.
"…yes."
Looking up, Starbi could feel the rain's grace growing. With Grinlock in Starbi's arms, he could only hear the sounds of rain bouncing, as if something like that of an umbrella had suddenly appeared to shield the two from the rain.
"I'm glad," Starbi smiled, gently planting a kiss on Grinlock's head.
"…thank you," Grinlock mumbled, his head still huddled in.
…
Moving his hand to bring it under Grinlock's chin. Starbi lifted the performer's head up, his smile softening as he met Grinlock's eyes, welled-up with content.
"Just say the word, and I'll be here to grant it, alright?"
With a pause, Grinlock nodded, blinking briefly to get rid of any brief tears seeping through his mask. Bringing his hand close to the performer's eyes, Starbi properly wiped away his faint tears of content.
Starbi let out a heartwarming laugh, "there's my crimson brute." Starbi teased, resting his forehead against Grinlock's, "as handsome as he is red."
Grinlock remained quiet, Starbi's kindhearted words doing nothing but melting the performer's heart. Trembling with joy, Grinlock's arms tightened around Starbi.
The Starborn's kindness, his warmth and affection, to call him handsome, did everything to melt his heart in a matter of seconds.
"You're everything I could wish for," Grinlock muttered his, voice shaky.
"You are..."
...
"…my shooting star."

---------------------------------------
Living among the stars is a complex idea. At the surface level, the thought of drifting in the endless void seemed like a common fantasy for the average starry-eyed mortal.
But nobody could ever fully grasp its eldritch-like mystery when one thinks of actually living in space. However, such factors are trivial when it comes to a certain fluffy feline who made this colorful abyss his very home.
The feline drifted among the stars, his form appearing comfortable with his legs crossed. He had a fantastical appearance. His fur was soft with a pale purple hue along with symmetrical dark shades around his body. The insides of his ears vibrant with cool colors.
He wore comfortable attire, starting with an indigo sleeveless crop top. His shorts, a cool purple with a blue cloth wrapped around his waist. Charming blue headphones accented with stars were around his ears, his outfit topped off with a gray collar tagged with a blue charm.
The feline's eyes were shut with a smile curved on his face, gentle hums escaping his mouth harmonizing with the music playing from his headphones. His eyelids lifted, revealing eyes that matched his ears' cool hues, looking down to the earth he was floating on.
The feline’s initial smile softened, appreciating the sight before him. The comforting world of space truly being a safe space for him, one where he truly belonged. With his chest fluttering with a comfortable warmth, it urged him to try something else, an idea he wanted to do before he would forget.
Removing the headphones from his ears, floating around his neck, he sat up. The feline's tail of large colorful beads of blue and purple began to shake, the beads clanking against each other as he shook his tail.
Slowly, a silvery glow would begin to take shape against the surface of his beads, glittery dust shimmering as stardust formed around his tail.
The silver mist swarmed around the feline, floating as clumps of stardust were caught in his hands. Bringing his cupped hands close to his face, he would promptly begin to swarm his fingers through the glittery mist as it changed colors.
The feline closed his eyes, his soft smile turning into a focused expression as his brows furrowed. As he focused, his breathing steadied, as he cleared his mind. With the faintest sigh escaping through his nose, the stardust began to morph.
The dust continued to morph, shifting in shape as it began to let out noises of cosmic wonders, like that of the shrieks of a galaxy, calling out in the vastness of outer space. The feline took a sharp breath of air, the faint cosmic shrieks ceased, ending with a sharp twinkling sound. In his hands, the feline felt a gradual warmth growing in his hands. With a smile, he would begin to slowly lift his eyes to see the star he had just—
“Hi there!~”
The feline's eyes shot open instantly, noticing a smile from the corner of his eyes, seeing someone bent over to look at the star in his hands up close.
The feline let out a yelp, leaning away from them in order to regain the personal space he had just a few seconds ago. The sudden lack of warmth in his hands would then direct the feline's attention to look forward, seeing that this sudden fright let him lose his grasp on the star he created.
"Whhhhhoops!"
The person stretched his arm out to grab the star, offering the star to the feline.
"I think this belongs to you," he laughed.
Glaring down at the star in the person's gloved hands, the feline cautiously accepted the star.
"… Thank you?" He responded, looking back to register what… or who he was looking at.
"It's no worries!" The human assured with a shrug, his smile only brightening.
The feline raised a brow, his confusion clearly evident by the look of his face. Noticing that the human seemed to not be floating, the feline glanced down to see he was standing on… nothing?
"Did you make that?" The human asked.
The feline shot his head up quickly, looking up to see the human point at the star in his hands.
"Uhm, yeah. I made it." He replied, his tone still puzzled, truly confused to see this person up in space without any sort of spacesuit.
"That's so cool!" He exclaimed, his eyes sparkled with astonishment. "It's been quite a while since I've seen something like this."
The more the human spoke, it only left the feline with more questions than answers. The feline would take note of his appearance.
"Oh, uhm… thanks?" The feline responded, taking note of the literal stars in the person's eyes, thinking that he wasn't actually a human, which was a start to explaining some things.
He was tall with a terracotta complexion, maybe the same height as the feline. His eyes were a warm purple with 4-pointed stars for pupils. He had long brown hair, stretching down to his back, accompanied by a yellow streak on the left side of his bangs.
Furthermore, he wore a collared shirt with a purple tie around his neck, a sleeveless yellow cardigan worn over the two with orange accents. His pants were a dark brown, his shoes a pale-white. With the final note of his attire, he wore fingerless gloves, mismatching in color.
The person raised a brow, "are you okay?" He asked, his tone cheerful.
"… Yeah, I'm alright." The feline responded, "I just didn't expect to see… another person up here."
"Fair enough! I guess I really am a little spontaneous with the way I make my entrances!"
As he took those steps, the feline glanced down more to see just what this person was walking on, only to see faint glows of white under the person's shoes for every step he took. Curiously, the feline moved his foot down to try and feel this invisible platform, only to feel nothing below him.
"You're fine," the feline replied. "I just… didn't expect you to be up close to me like that."
"That's fair, I'll keep that in mind next time!" He smiled. "I guess I should introduce myself then," he spoke, offering his hand out to the feline. "My name's Starbi! It's nice to meet you."
The feline glanced down at Starbi's hand, quickly accepting it as he was met with a comfortable warmth emitting from Starbi's gloves.
"It's nice to meet you, Starbi." He greeted with a small smile, "my name's Europa."
Starbi hummed, "nice name! Like the continent, right?" He asked.
"Huh?"
"Oh- don't worry about that!" Starbi smiled, breaking the handshake. "Anyway… do you tend to just live up here? Or did I just catch you at the right time?" He asked, briefly glancing down at the earth.
Europa shrugged, "I visit earth most of the time, just for going down for fun or getting something good to eat." He replied, gently spinning the star in his hands.
"Sounds fun!" He commented, "I guess I'm in the same boat as you. I tend to visit any world that I come across myself."
"Any world?" Europa raised his brow.
"Yeah! Like different universes," Starbi replied. "You guys haven't found out about that yet?"
Europa blinked. "I mean… I've thought about the idea of different universes," Europa replied. "So you're some kind of… world hopper?"
"I guess you could call it that!" Starbi shrugged. "It's just a power I've had for quite some time now, since I was born a few years ago."
"How many years ago?" Asked Europa.
Starbi paused, humming to himself briefly to think. "Well… give or take over a few hundred thousand? Maybe a million by now." Starbi shrugged, "I can't say I fit the "eldritch-horror" look if that's the case."
His response rendered Europa rather dumbfounded. "Wow… can't say that's an answer I expected," Europa commented, letting out a nervous laugh. "Then… you're not really human then, are you?"
"I'm sure not!" He smiled. "To put it simply, I'm just made up of magic stardust, whole species with magic powers… etcetera!" He explained.
Europa's ears perked upwards, on one hand, he was surprised to see someone so… mystical appear so humane. And on the other hand, he was more curious as to what that meant for Europa, one who can manipulate stardust to his will.
He wondered if he could grace Starbi's hand, just to see what kind of stardust it was.
"What about you?" Starbi asked, bringing Europa out of his line of thought.
Europa glanced away to think for a moment, looking down at the star in his hands.
"I guess I'm… made of magic too?" He shrugged. "Then again, I don't think any normal cat would be up here in space alive," he joked.
Strangely, no laughter came from the seemingly excitable Starbi. But Europa paid no mind and moved on.
"My powers just revolve around making stardust with my tail," he explained, his tail shaking briefly. "My tail makes the stardust, and then I just do whatever I want with—"
Out of nowhere, Europa froze. His mind ceased of thought as he felt something grace his head. Europa lifted his head up slightly, spotting a hand that belonged to Starbi, nestled between his ears.
With a blank expression, Europa glanced at Starbi, looking to see a curious, yet firm expression brushed on his face.
"… Soft," Starbi muttered, his hand shifting from side to side between the cat's ears.
Beyond those few words, the two celestial entities remained quiet. Europa was shocked to say the least, not having someone pet him before, especially so suddenly from someone he barely knew. Despite that, he didn't respond.
Strangely enough, he didn't seem to mind.
Starbi's hand graced between Europa's ears, spreading out his fingers as he slowly sunk his nails into the cat's head, starting to scratch him.
With the warmth of his hand, along with the comforting scratching, gave Europa a certain sense of joy. Closing his eyes as he enjoyed the scratches, he couldn't help but instinctively let the faintest rhythmic purrs rumble through him.
While being scratched, Europa briefly felt Starbi's hand was soft in texture. It was as if for a moment, Starbi wasn't scratching Europa, but Europa himself with his own hand.
But suddenly, that detail was swept away the moment Europa was surged with a sudden instinct to act.
With his eyes open to reveal saucers. Europa swiftly grabbed Starbi's arm with both of his paws, his grip firm as he opened his mouth. Revealing decently sharp fangs, Europa chomped down on Starbi's wrist, gnawing against against the warm fabric of Starbi's gloves.
As Europa continued to chew on Starbi's hand. It wasn't long before Starbi's hand eventually reacted to this exchange.
With his hand gently wiggling in the grasp of Europa, the feline lifted his eyes up to see Starbi's other hand, gently flicking at the Europa's ears.
As if out of natural instinct, Europa let go of his grasp on Starbi's arm to swipe at his other hand.
Starbi whipped both of his hands away, leaving Europa to stare at Starbi with diluted pupils. His body leaning forward as his tail thrashed around with energy. His shoulders and arms were hunched forward, his form almost spinning in place from the lack of gravity.
Europa continued to stare, only for his eyes to slowly contract, his tail slowing down in movement as he blinked in confusion to what just happened.
"I… what just—?"
Glancing up to see Starbi, staring at the hand Europa practically feasted on, the gloves now torn left by Europa's fangs, faint glows poking through each tear.
"…Huh," Starbi muttered calmly, turning his hand infrequently.
As Starbi looked back up to Europa, Europa could only grow more confused as Starbi turned his head to the side. Accompanied with the feeling of something being missing, Europa followed suit and looked at what Starbi was looking at, only to see the star that was just in his hands moments ago drifting away.
"Ah– wait, no!"
Europa dashed over to the star, leaving behind brief traces of stardust left behind by his tail. But he slowed down, stopping in his tracks as he let out a sigh of defeat, letting the star drift away. He initially was going to let it drift off, but it still hurt the poor feline to not do so in the way he had hoped.
Turning his head back, Europa saw Starbi approach him, his hand swimming through the trace of stardust. His steps leaving pale glows of light once more as he walked over to Europa, his hand now covered in dust and glitter
Starbi hummed to himself, staring at his hand. "It felt weird in my hands," he commented, his eyes glittered with amazement.
"Yeah, that's… nice." Europa glanced down at Starbi's hands, to see nothing but faint dents in the gloves' fabric. His tone evident of his subtle disappointment. "Are you okay?" Europa asked.
"Yeah! Why?"
"Nothing, I just thought I hurt you. I guess I was wrong," Europa replied. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what came over me."
"Oh!" Starbi's eyes lit up, as if he had forgot what Europa talked about. "It's no worries, its kinda funny to think about, if anything."
"Right," Europa responded, watching the star continue to drift.
Starbi clapped his hands together, dusting the glitter away as it twinkled in the vacuum of space. He would look down at Europa's expression, then looking at the same star drifting away.
"…Mind if I try something?" He asked.
"Uhm, sure?" Europa asked, raising a brow.
With his smile brightening briefly, Starbi closed his eyes. Clasping his hands together, and in a matter of seconds, golden glows of light would peak through his hands. Morphing into a spherical form, his hands bloomed, revealing a 5-pointed star, vibrant and cartoon-like.
"Ta-da!" Starbi chimed.
"Whoa…" Europa muttered, his eyes glistening with awe. "So you can make them too… that's cool." He commented, a small smile forming on his face.
"Thanks! But it's nothing special, I'm a little rusty with this stuff," he replied, offering the star to Europa.
Europa accepted the offer, holding the star in his hands. "Well, I'd say it's nothing I've made yet. It's… got a nice charm to it!" Europa commented, his tone growing with joy. Looking at the star, Europa flicked his fingers at one of its points, the star slowly spinning in his hand.
Starbi hummed, "why don't you keep it?" He asked,
"Really?"
"Why not?" He shrugged.
"Well, thanks then." Europa smiled. "Is it fine if I… let it go?"
"I don't see why not! Go for it."
With Starbi's permission, Europa's hands moved away from the star. With no grounds to float on, the star would naturally drift away, following the previous star at a slow pace.
"It… feels nice to see it drift away like that," Starbi commented. "Is that what you usually do up here?"
"Something like that," Europa replied. "It's kind of the main thing I do with my stardust. My tail makes it, I make something out of it, and let it drift off in space on my own terms as I… kinda paint the world." He explained, following with a brief laugh.
Starbi tilted his head, his smile coursed with a sense of elation from Europa's response. "Fascinating…" he muttered to himself. "It's also nice to leave a trace of yourself."
"Yeah… I guess so," Europa replied. "I'm guessing you do that too?"
Starbi hummed, glancing away briefly, "something like that."
"Well, that's nice."
"Yeah, its not the usual way I'd do it, but its nice to leave a landmark this time around."
"How do you usually do it then?"
"Well, its more so a… "show, don't tell" kind of thing," Starbi winked.
"Ah, alright then…?" Europa let out a small laugh. "How many times have you… left traces of yourself then?"
"…Yes."
Europa glared at Starbi, only for the two to share a laugh between them.
"But I guess I lost count!" Starbi replied.
"If you don't mind me asking, do you have your own world?" Europa asked. "Like… your original universe."
"Nope!"
Europa blinked, "oh. Was it… destroyed?" His asked, ears drooping briefly. "I'm sorry, you don't have to say anything if you don't want to."
"It just never existed!"
"Never existed?" Europa repeated.
Starbi nodded. "Yup! Think of it like this."
Leaning back to sit down on nothing, a golden glow appeared at the tip of Starbi's finger. In a circular formation, Starbi created a circle of glowing light, as if his finger was some sort of pen.
"Here, we have your home!" With the snap of his finger appeared two drawings, resembling both Starbi and Europa. "Everything like pocket dimensions… all that stuff, is kept in this big bubble!" He explained.
"Then we have another universe!" Starbi exclaimed, another circle appearing. "This place has its own folks and story to tell." He added.
"Then, you have me!" As he spoke, the doodle resembling Starbi moved out of the initial bubble, now between both bubbles. "My home is the in-between! Kind of like a hallway with different rooms."
"I see…" Europa nodded. "Did you really need to put a poorly drawn version of me in this?" He asked, squinting his eyes as he crossed his arms.
Starbi shrugged with a smile, the golden diagram disappearing.
"Rrrright," Europa replied, his tone feigning skepticism. "Then… would this be your first time here, then?"
"Probably!" Starbi answered. "I'd probably remember a fluffy cat in space," he replied. "Think you can give me a rundown on some big events happening down there?" He asked, pointing down to the globe below them.
"Well, I guess the main things that happened here are…"
As Europa began to explain, Starbi remained quiet, seething in all the things Europa could recount with an unwavering smile on his face.
"And… yeah, that's all I can remember," Europa spoke, finishing his detailed explanation.
"I see…" Starbi commented, his still-like demeanor vanishing as he spoke. "So this is a Monkie Kid universe?"
"I guess?" Europa shrugged. "So… does that mean you have been here before?"
"Can't say I have yet. I've only heard of this place once or twice, but I haven't gotten around to making my way here up until now."
"I see," Europa commented. "Actually– hold on. Did you say a Monkie Kid universe?" He asked. "As in… there's different versions of this one?"
"Well, yeah!" Starbi replied. "There's plenty of variations of your home out there. With different people, same people, different time periods, lots of different scenarios that come to life! There's got to be millions of them by now."
"I… see," Europa replied, forcing a smile on his face. The thought of there being so many alternate universes of his home was… interesting. But the feline couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed as he thought about it.
"But I'd say I'm glad I ended up here," Starbi said abruptly. "You seem like a one-of-a-kind!" He complimented. "All of your memories, the ones with your loved ones, the ones that you cherish. The ones that made you the person you are now! All of that makes you someone that nobody else could be!"
"Well, thanks for that," Europa smiled. "You seem like an interesting guy to be around too. I can't say I've met someone like you yet."
Starbi smiled warmly in response to Europa's kind words. And shortly after, the two would talk as if they had all the time in the world. When you're a celestial being, time can only be nothing.
As Europa hung out with Starbi, he couldn't help but feel happy. Knowing that there was more people like him out there than he thought. The only person he could really consider was his close friend, Um. The thought of Europa introducing Starbi to human brought a warm smile to the feline's face. And Europa could only help but wonder what kind of friends Starbi had.
"So… run it by me again," Europa asked.
"All I'm saying is… if you can make stars, and the sun is a star… then couldn't you– you know what? Nevermind!" Starbi shrugged, letting out a hum-like laugh. "Say…"
"What's up?"
"Why don't we go down on earth?" Starbi suggested, "I'd like to explore some of this place. And I think I could use a tour guide."
"Ah… well," Europa glanced away, scratching the back of his neck, making sure he had his headphones with him. "It should be… quiet down there? I could go for some tonkatsu too..."
"Tonkatsu? Sounds nice, I guess I can eat a bit down there too!" Starbi sat up from his imaginary chair. "Do you want to start off somewhere quiet for a bit?"
"I'd prefer that, if I'm being honest."
"Alright! Can do!" Starbi exclaimed, reaching his hand out to the feline. "Take my hand," he requested.
With a raised brow, Europa accepted Starbi's hand.
"Now, take a—ooo soft hand— take a deep breath. Then imagine where on earth you'd like to be now!" He instructed.
"Well, alright… I'll try."
Europa followed Starbi's instructions. Closing his eyes, Europa took in a deep breath, his brows furrowing in a familiar manner as he focused, clearing his mind to think of a place on earth that wasn't too loud for him.
...
"The place I'd like to be…"
As he focused, warm light began to appear around the two's hands, the light continuing to grow around them the more Europa focused.
The moment Europa found a place he found suitable, he could feel a strange surge through his body, as if his brain was literally linked to the hand he used to take Starbi's. But despite that, his expression softened.
"Next stop, this place! Or something... all aboard the Starbi Express!"
Europa let out a laugh, "what—"
And in a flash, they were gone, now off to wherever Europa thought was ideal. One that was ideal for him to introduce Starbi to, and one that was ideal for Europa to relax in, the only noise he could expect being the extroverted individual accompanying him.
Despite Starbi's spontaneous behavior, Europa could tell that Starbi meant well, albeit with less-than-stellar execution.
Should Europa choose to continue being Starbi's friend, he could only hope to manage someone like him.
But from what the friendly exchange Europa shared with him, Europa was left with only one question that only he could answer.
A little chaos once in a while wouldn't hurt, right?
Author Note:
Hello everyone !! Welcome to a new post of mine in a while. This is a oneshot in the works for a LONG while, made for my friend, @velvetchiffon !!
This fic involves an interaction/character study between our two main sonas, Starbi (mine) and Europa (Chiffon) !!
I wanted to do something nice and see how our characters would interact with one another, as well as to further develop my own Sona's character and how he behaves towards others.
The ending may be a little rushed and the way I formatted things may be a little wonky. But regardless, I think I've written something solid and showcases my improvement in the span of just a few months !!
I hope you guys enjoy what I've written !!
You can find Europa on Chiffon's Toyhouse:

I feel like if Starbi was put in a deep sleep, or was ever potentially dissociating, he would do more than stop breathing.
His body is made of magic stardust, and by proxy he emits a comforting warmth when people are in close contact with him. In addition, he's also able to control his weight. Again, all in which to appear human.
So I feel like his body temperature would also grow tepid, as well as growing surprisingly weightless.
Just here trying to flesh out Starbi's emulation of humanity. As a Starborn (my own species), his true form doesn't need to eat, drink, sleep, blink or breathe.
But I think with his fascination for humanity, and in addition, organic life. He'd want to emulate that to the best of his ability.
And with his obsession with human connection/connection, he'd try his best to appear as approachable as possible. So by proxy, I imagine he'd only emulate these human functions when he's around other people.
Right now I'm mainly focusing on sleeping, and by proxy, breathing.
I imagine Starbi would be able to sleep perfectly still which would emphasise on his inhumanity. His capabilities granted by his existence as a Starborn allowed him to be so human, he isn't at all– so to speak.
With regards to breathing, he simply doesn't need it. After all, he was originally created in space. So everything in regards to breathing, both underwater and on the surface is meaningless to him.
With sleeping habits, I do think he'd be a lightsleeper !! Without needing sleep and practically always having energy to share, he's really easy to wake up.
I do think it'd be interesting for him to also "connect" with his clones in this way too, which is another whole part of Starbi I have yet to talk about here.
So while in a comfy bed, he'd close his eyes. And in an instant, he's looking through the eyes of one of his clones created for a universe he found interesting. I guess you could call this his way of having dreaming lol.
I do think that should he "connect" with his clones this way, this would render him falling into a "deep sleep", where he actually becomes a heavy sleeper !! It could honestly allow for more fleshing out on potential dreams, and how Starbi and others could interact with his dreams. #marioandluigidreamteam
Though, perhaps him falling into a deep sleep is where Starbi stops to emulate breathing as well.
But yeah! Case in point, Starbi is a lightsleeper, and can stay perfectly still when emulating sleep or actually sleeping. Thanks for coming to my ted talk !!
