((Ooh, that's a good question!
I remember that after following the Bowz and Iggy ask blogs that I was slowing starting to get interested in starting up an ask blog myself as a way to improve my art. I knew from the get go that I wanted to start up an ask blog for a Mario enemy, but I couldn't decide on what I'd to use. I think the idea of using a Goomba as my character came to me while i was doing chores or taking a shower or something, I honestly can't remember.
My very first thought was to make an ask blog for a Goomba that is constantly determined to 'beat up Mario', and him trying out different tactics with no success. Then I figured that the enemy that would be most determined to defeat Mario is the very first Goomba on the very first stage, considering that they cross paths often, especially whenever a player starts a new game/ loses a life/ gets a game over! The inspiration for 1-1's personality came from this cute little video, and I imagined that 1-1 would also be as adventerous and tactless as that Duck Turtle!
