Starbuncles Coffee - We’re a bit Mist-y eyed. [Venue Update]

It’s with great pleasure that I get to share some wonderful news with the community today. Starbuncles Coffee has its bigger, better, Bunclier location in the Mist on the beachfront! This came with a FC attached from a great friend who caught a miss tell and wanted to help us out. c:  Starting with this week’s service, we’ll be open at the new Mist location so that we actually have seats for everyone for once! 

[Balmung] Mist, Ward 1, Plot 36 - Weekly on Tuesdays from 11pm - 2am EST

It’d be great to get some signal boosts so we can redirect traffic as smoothly as possible from one location to the other, thank you!

We extend a heartfelt invitation to the community to come celebrate with us as we continue to provide our weekly late-night sugar-fueled hi-jinks. We’ve got more changes coming; including, our first festival, Summersturn menu, giveaways, and more coming up! So stay tuned as we open another chapter in the Starbuncles saga! What is your favourite part of doing what you do for FF roleplayers?

Assuming this is directed more towards my little Starbuncles Coffee! My favorite part of doing what I am for FF roleplayers… It’s getting to meet the community and have some fun with all the characters that come into my shop or that I see at festivals! Seeing people leave happy that they spent a few hours of their often limited time at Starbuncles or mingling with new people makes me happiest and genuinely puts a big ol’ grin on my face.

I feel a little embarrassed saying it, but I’m very much doing Starbuncles Coffee for the community. Sure, the concept is definitely a passion of mine and I’ve worked months on prep up until where I am right now, but it’s all about making others happy. 

Right down to the time slot– which is 11 pm - 2 am EST on Tuesdays. I’m currently EST– that’s really late for me to run a venue, BUT–

I feel like PST roleplayers don’t really get a good chance to see many of Balmung’s events right now because they are almost all on EST. Weekends excluded. Most of the events start between 5 - 9pm EST, that’s only 2 - 6pm PST! Most people aren’t home and getting a chance to eat yet by that time or by the time they DO show up, the main rush is already over and the venue is winding down. At the same time, I get that people don’t want to stay up until super late. Everyone has their own lives to live… Which is I guess where I come in with my half-baked ideas!

I picked a spot during the week that wasn’t stepping on any toes, was typically a ‘dead’ RP night since it’s reset day and not a weekend and was late enough for people on the West Coast to be able to make the full duration. I actually don’t want to admit how long it took me pouring over the RPC calendar to find a ‘good’ time… I’m rambling, but I suppose I’m trying to say– We’ve got great events already, every night of the week and I’m trying to help fill what gaps I see and do my own part to keep RP open and accessible to people in my own way. A weekly RP spot where anyone regardless of alignment or backstory is welcome. We’re just a simple sugar-driven Carbuncle-crazed cafe open to anyone that walks through the doors… and I try to embrace that on all levels; even if it gets a little crazy! [Lookin’ at you, Altan! <3] I don’t know if this answers your question fully or if I’ve gone and made myself look like a dork, but hey. I love Balmung and the community in it.

So, TL;DR: My favorite part of doing what I do for FF roleplayers is just being ‘there’ for the community. Being part of it and helping it grow and be accessible and inclusive for everyone. 

If I can play even a tiny part in fostering the community I’ve called home since the Besaid days– you bet your Buncle booty I’m going to![I’m so sorry I rambled ;   ;]

Starbuncles Coffee - Tonight!

Starting May 15th, 2018, we’ll be hosting our weekly cafe service at our new location:

Server - [Balmung] Where - Mist, Ward 1, Plot 36 - right on the waterfront/docks.  When - 11pm - 2am EST weekly on Tuesdays

We’ve got about two weeks left on our Spring menu, so look out for new changes to the seasonal portion! We look forward to seeing you!

Starbuncles Shenanigans

Another night at Starbuncles (4-24-18) and Rihn almost won the Carb-Uncle Challenge with two remaining. It was a good night, and even entertaining while the young doctor made some new friends. Of course, Gan had his hands full with a rambunctious Scruff Puff (I don’t know if they have a tumblr account) started a hint of trouble. It was probably because she had ordered a bag of sugar earlier on in the evening.

Starbuncles Opening Night! - A Buncle Bash to Believe In! Here are a few screencaps I managed to get between helping take orders! I’m sorry I don’t know everyone’s @ tags on here since I’m kinda new to all this, SO-- if you see someone you know, feel free to tag and let them know!  Thanks for coming to Starbuncles last night and I look forward to seeing you all (and more of you) next week!
