Bibliomantis
A dog-sized creature that burrowed into the Refracted Library, the Bibliomantis disguises itself as a shelf of books, with its claws folded around the spines. They primarily feed on bookwyrms and memory voles, but will lash out at humans invading their territory with papercut-sharp claws before vanishing into the stacks.
Melusina Rapp
A scholar-thief of the Museum Fleet, Melusina has assembled a team of delvers to raid Euloth’s libraries for lost cultural tomes. She has timed her expedition to coincide with another one she caught wind of, hoping to slip through Delmestral’s defenses while the god is distracted with the other raiders.
The Guild of the Doorless Key
The mercenary warrior-artisans of the Doorless Key craft magical tools only they can use; upon their deaths, their souls pass into their favourite one, empowering it for any user who shares their principles. The Guild’s greatest arts were lost with Euloth, but they still hope to reclaim them one day.
The Refracted Library
The vast library of Euloth fractured as the island sank, its shelves and levels replicating themselves downwards. Each book in the library exists in dozens of places at once, and any delver trying to reassemble them must avoid deadly pitfalls and roaming chaos-beasts to bring the echoes together again.
The Vellumite
Crafted by a Grim Keymaster, the Vellumite can fold its nigh-indestructible vellum body into several animal forms. However, it wasn’t her favourite creation, and couldn’t sustain itself after her death. It will bind to a new master, draining their lifeforce to survive as it seeks desperately to protect them.
Tomesi Shandor
Tomesi was a foolhardy malefactor who was killed sixty years ago as they tried to steal Delmestral’s focal eye. Their final spell trapped their mind within one of Delmestral’s vespers, and they have been slipping from vesper to vesper ever since, hoping to find a delver to possess and escape.
The Inverted Dungeon
As the fall swept the island, several guards locked themselves in the castle’s heavily-warded dungeon, evicting its prisoners. They died clawing at the doors, seeking the safety of imprisonment, and their souls became screaming storms of metal and stone fragments, which still assault the dungeon and the wardstone staff within.
Kylan Joldandro
Stolen off his ship by oaken mermaids, Kylan soothed the pride by singing to them. He has lived two years as their pet, fed scraps of raw fish as he waits for the day they decide to eat him. He is desperate to escape, but can’t survive the labyrinth alone.
