Jason Todd Headcanons
This is kinda random, but I have so many headcanons for Jason. I get some of them randomly, but a lot are from my own experiences because I feel like I can relate to him a little bit? Some of them are kinda dumb, so I might delete this later out of embarrassment tbh. But, anyways! Here are like my main headcanons for Jason Todd. (It's a long one, just an FYI. I got a lot to say about Jason)
I imagine he's really pale. Partially because Gotham already has like no sun, but also because he died at some point and now he's concerningly pale, and it causes some other issues for him. Because he's so incredibly pale (and has physical issues I'll yap about later) I headcanon he also has a purple tint to his skin sometimes. If he's standing still for so long, people around him tend to notice that he begins to turn corpse colored purple (mainly in his fingers and legs) and often ask if he's alright out of concern for his well being. (This headcanon is actually based on a thing that happened at my work). Also with the whole turning purple thing (probably from lack of blood flow all the time? But idk I'm not a doctor so idk why that happens), he notices that if he's not using his fingers they lock up and he has to basically work them back into commission by repeatedly forcing his fingers to bend. (Kinda feels like pins and needles but not exactly?) I also imagine he struggles to feel warm. Like he feels warm to other people but he to himself always feels cold (he's extra padded on missions for warmth).
Another thing I headcanon is that while the pit healed all his injuries on the outside visibly, it doesn't mean that all the way down they are healed. I imagine that the explosion completely destroyed his joints and since the pit healing, he still feels chronic pain and aches because it can't heal everything. So I imagine that his joints all crack during usage (turning his wrist? CRACK! Crouching down on a roof? SNAP CRACKLE and POP! Dude sounds ancient when he's moving. Also, he sounds like a horror movies character when he moves with how much his knees grind and pop with each step). Because his joints are like this, he has to sleep with braces on to prevent dislocation. He also just has to wear braces for extra support since I also headcanon he's hyperflexable/double jointed (something I also headcanon for Dick bc he's an acrobat). Just to add onto that, his joints constantly feel stiff to him so he's constantly cracking his fingers and rotating in weird ways to try and help the aches he gets from simply being alive.
I also like to imagine he has curly/curlier hair (at least curlier than the other Robin's, like 2b/2c type maybe?) I just like that it kinda makes him stand out from the rest of their straight black hair. I also imagine he doesn't take care of it (no one taught him and he never asked) so it's only really obvious that his hair is curly when it's wet or after a mission when he takes off his helmet because of sweat (gross, ik, but anyways...). The rest of the time it's kinda frizzy so Starfire always kind of side eyes him when they interact because she's wondering if "he purposely brushes out his hair or...?"
I have more headcanons for Jason but I feel like those are my main ones that I like to think about. Sorry for the long rant! And just a reminder that these are simply my headcanons not canon!
