I'd love to know your commander's feelings on Pale Tree, Joko and whichever dragon you want!
(WAGUH ty for asking!! these are fun npcs! I was planning on drawing something for this but it wasn't coming out the way I wanted so I GAVE UP and that's why this response is so late lol)
THE PALE TREE: Azi’s identity is pretty tangled within the Pale Tree—he was an avid, tenacious advocate for sylvari during the events of HoT, and fought to defend the Pale Tree’s name whenever possible (even though he struggled to ignore Mordemoth’s call, and felt just a little betrayed when it was revealed that the Pale Tree was a… “reformed” blighting tree). While his commander-ing business keeps him far away from the Grove and the Pale Tree, he thinks about it often.
PALAWA JOKO: (lws4 is sort of where Azi’s story..... diverts from the canon in which Azi takes WEEKS to heal from coming back from the dead, and his acquaintance/doctor/co-commander/situationship/whatever is actually the one that moves through most of lws4’s events. anyway. that’s a story for another day.) Azi didn’t think much of Joko when he first crossed him in the Domain of the Lost; he had other things on his mind. And being unconscious/healing for a lot of the Joko-action, he didn’t REALLY learn about him until after Joko’s death. Azi was LIVID when he learned that some goopy lich had taken credit for his actions— actions that cost countless lives, destroyed the livelihoods of hundreds, and were all-around traumatic, stressful, and incredibly difficult periods in Azi’s life. Furthermore, Azi was downright disturbed by Joko’s obsession with him. (on a lighter note, Azi was also a little disgruntled by the bad name Joko was giving necromancers/scourges lol).
JORMAG: while Mordremoth wreaked irreversible havoc on Azi’s physical body, Jormag demolished his already fragile state of mind. Jormag was magnetic, seductive, and convincing. IBS was a particularly difficult time for Azi, and Jormag’s pliant, gentle whisperings of rest and sleep were incredibly tempting to give in to. But Jormag was still dangerous, a force that threatened everything Azi cared for, and needed to be put down. Dangerous physically, and dangerous psychologically. Azi also struggled with the wedge Jormag drove between him and Braham.
