The only Social Media Week Paris event I went to this month was the Social Photography event because I'm a firm believer that mobile photography has given everybody a channel for their undiscovered creativity, and I think that's a great thing. Huge even.
The event was hosted by Tribegram, a major mobile photography community in France created by Séverine Bourlet de la Vallée. For the first hour, she gave an overview of trends in social photography. The second hour was devoted to French startup Starmatic, my preferred mobile photo app and community (I left Instagram the minute I could import all my pics into Starmatic because I don't like Facebook). Starmatic cofounder Arnaud de Lummen talked about the background of the startup and its future plans. I'd met Arnaud at Leweb in 2011 and 2012, and was glad to see him again. We went and had a beer afterwards and talked app features and trends.
The event was held at Gaité Lyrique, a kind of art gallery slash tech resource center slash startup incubator. Very classy and geeky, and a definite candidate for future Cowgirl App! events.
Of course, I wore my red cowgirl boots, which looked very patriotic (French and American) with my blue bag against the white floors of the venue!
And I covet that hot pink 70s retro media center lounge cube thingy. For my office. Whaddya think?
xoxo
