Having Prompto over was not beneficial to him studying much of anything really, so why Ignis hadn't given the both of them the stink-eye when the blond had shown up was frankly beyond him.

He'd tried, at least, to focus on his work and to actually let Prompto know that he was booked out for the afternoon basically because he was already behind enough as it was. Nobody tells you going to a regular school means twice the amount of work at home, since public school while preferable to him by a long shot, didn't actually help when it came to educating him for his role as the Prince of Lucis.

Yet when Prompto whines at him, he can't help but snort softly, trying to cover his snickers and shooting the other a sidewards glance. Oh, not fair— Prompto knows damn well he can't say no to that pouty look! Already half way into giving in, he finally caves and puts the bookmark between the pages before closing the book with a grin.

"Alright fine, this stuff's boring anyway. What did you have in mind?" Playing games with Prompto might not be the smartest thing to be doing in the moment, but it'd sure as hell be more fun and interesting than his work.

“Sure. As long as you don’t comment about my eating habits or lack of nutrition like last time”. When they were both still in the same school and before all literal hell broke lose in early months of a new year back then. The feeling of eating together felt like an eternity ago with Sumire going to the Olympic prelims and everything and Akira’s life still trying to get into racing cars one way or another. Still, it was nice to just practice summersaults with his precious person. Made it seemed like there wasn’t a time limit on his life at the moment.

“Think we can go to the pancake house? And no, I’m being serious here. I love pancakes. They are delicious. Hey, stop looking like that at me. I swear I am not trying to make a joke on someone’s behalf”. He has his hands up in the air in surrender, trying to make sure he wasn’t making cheap shots at a certain detective. Akira actually liked pancakes. Especially ones that had a lot of syrup and strawberries.
