The atmosphere near Konoha this season was fair, but she had on a cloak above her normal shinobi green flack vest, and dark gray pants. The heat of it all was nearly too much as she stood beneath the early morning sun. Thankfully, it would be another few hours before the sun was at full compacity and it was too hot to make due.
Her heart drifted to Naruto and Sasuke, wherever they were on their own separate mission and she felt a stab of jealousy. Unlike her two male teammates, she was on a much stricter schedule than they were.
Being a highly respected Medical-shinobi kept her chained to whatever her orders were. Normally it was on hand by the hospital, helping the staff there. Often times she would get sent out as a medical Anbu on particularly dangerous missions.
However for the most part, she remained alone at the village while her friends got to do as they pleased. It was annoying to imagine they fun they might be having together.
She let out a deeply unsatisfying breath, and it puffed the hair of her bangs. Standing on the bridge above the small pond which was nestled next to the tallest, most beautiful sakura tree, she felt safe and happy. She thought of what her newest mission held in store for her, as she stood in the showering sakura petals, her forearms braced on the railing and her back hunched as she leaned forward to gaze at her reflection in the water.
And her thoughts wandered distractedly.
