Weeks had passed since Elizabeth allowed a part of herself to open up to Alexander. Part of the time she had kept herself away from him. Allowing herself to process that were emerging from the bottom of her psyche that had long been out of use. Did she love him? The more she thought about it, the more she could say she was slowly coming to. He was patient with her. Allowing her her space and quiet, but always being there when she had need of him. When she had sent him the invitation to dine with her she had been nervous waiting to see if he would reply or not.
When the answer had been yes, her heart had thumped against her breast. What on earth would she wear? Hours were spent deciding on color, a simple purple, nearly the color of wine, gown had been chosen. The cream accents allowed for her bright hair to shine. The rubies and pearls glinted at her neck and in her hair, the finishing touches just being set in place when he was announced.
Standing and turning she offered him a genuine smile. "Good evening, Alexander. I am most glad you accepted my invitation for this evening."
