How does this just happen?! If he had just continued to trip normally he would’ve fallen with his head in the crook of her shoulder at most.
Anyway, just started this anime! Seems promising, I hope it’s good!
I should really finish the 6 anime I am currently watching first though...
(This video does not belong to me by any means, it is a clip from the anime Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi)

hello! i currently got into anime. i began with Death Note. i am half way through the series. i just purchased Soul Eater and it is being shipped. any anime you would recommend? thank you!
Welcome to the dark side fellow tumblr user colbeybenson
I don’t even know where to start! Alrighty, know that first off you should try to figure out what type of anime you’re into, like if you’re more into action and mystery animes, or romance or sports anime, or if you like all types. I’m going to list some good anime that I personally really like and would recommend to anyone new to anime, and other tips and recommendations to go with it all. Know that i am no anime wiz, these are just some that i really like and would recommend to anyone. I just really got into anime this year, so there’s still a lot that I haven’t seen so i know that this list will change over time.
Attack on Titan or Shingeki no Kyojin, if you haven’t seen it already it’s definitely one you’re going to hear about. It’s filled with plot twists, and might get you hooked. I’m putting it on here because a lot of people now say it’s a good starter anime, especially with it’s popularity right now. It might get really boring after a few episodes, but you have to watch til ep 5. There’s a lot of dialogue, and i had to watch a couple episodes twice because watching subbed made it too much for me man. So if you prefer dubbed, it’s understandable if you watch this one dubbed the first time around. You can also watch on netflix.
Samurai Champloo. Dude, this is a must. It’s action packed and hilarious, and the soundtrack is the greatest. It’s 24 episodes long i believe, and you won’t regret watching it. Both the subbed and dubbed are pretty great with this one. You can also watch on netflix.
Zankyou no Terror, aka Terror In Resonance. Oh my gosh. This masterpiece is only 11 episodes long, and i’ll probably never get over this anime tbh. It makes you think and will keep you at the edge of your seat, and if you like death note you’ll probably enjoy this. The soundtrack is beautiful, and everything is just gr8 with this and it’s one of my favs.
Cowboy Bebop. this show is really great, it’s on toonami and it’s definitely a must. Each episode has it’s own story and it’s about 26 episodes. A lot of people say this is one of the best anime of all time. It starts off kinda slow, but it gets you pulled in after episode 5. The storyline is really great and action packed. I also like the dubbed/subbed with this one.
Samurai Champloo, Zankyou no Terror, and Cowboy Bebop are all created by the same masterminds, znt is the most recent though airing just this past summer. They’re all really good, and highly recommended.
Parasyte: The Maxim aka Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, this is an absolute must dude this freaking anime. I will probably never get over this or zankyou no terror. People say ‘its about aliens taking over the human race” when really this anime is about a different species coexisting and fighting for survival against/with the human race, and that doesn’t even really significantly explain this anime. Don’t be turned off by how weird it looks, because after you watch it you’ll definitely like it. It’ll make you look at life differently, it’s totally badass and action packed. 24 episodes. Character development. That is all.
Haikyuu!! this is a sports anime. It’s absolutely hilarious, and even if you don’t like sports or volleyball, you should still give it a try. You will love all of the characters in it, and it might be hard to find a favorite character because they’re all just great, If you don’t really like it at episode one, you should still keep watching because episode 2 alone is just hilarious. Give it a try!!
Kimi ni Todoke. This is a romance anime, so if you aren’t into romance then it’s understandable if you don’t end up liking this one. This is my all time favorite man. I was kinda hesitant to put it on here, mainly because i don’t think this is one to start off with right away. It’s not really just a romance, you go through the troubles the main character goes through and see how she slowly makes friends and become more open. She starts to stick up for the people and things she loves, and you kinda root for her each episode. This show is really light hearted and i think i like it so much because i feel like everyone can relate to the main character at last once in their life. It’s two seasons, so you should maybe try to watch it after watching a couple of other ones on this list.
Ore Monogatari I actually just finished this today!! This is another romance, and only 3 episodes are out right now. It’s hilarious, and it’s really different from a lot of other popular romance anime out there. You should give it a try, I mean there’s only three episodes so if you end up not liking those three episodes then ya know not to watch more.
Here’s some more anime that I personally haven’t seen yet, or have only seen a couple episodes of, but I recommend and hear are really good:
Code Geass a lot of people say that if you like death note, then you will definitely enjoy this.
Full Metal Alchemist (many people say to watch the original series first, then watch brotherhood after.)
Psycho Pass also on Netflix, I've seen a couple episodes of this and it’s really interesting.
Tokyo Ghoul action packed, rlly gorey tho. rlly popular right now.
Studio Ghibli. I know you said you bought Soul Eater, (nice!) so if you are purchasing anime series, i suggest definitely watching/buying any type of Studio Ghibli film. they’re all beautiful and you will absolutely love them. Guaranteed. They’re hard to find nowadays and you will feel so thankful to have the film in your possession.
Watch YouTube videos. Because honestly you can ask anyone about what anime to watch or what shows to watch in general, but you yourself don’t know what you personally will want to watch until you get out there yourself. So watch anime reviews, and anime top 10 lists and tons of other YouTube videos to introduce you to different shows to put on your to watch list. Just remember that when watching anime reviews, usually the YouTubers that are reviewing anime are really experienced and have seen multiple anime, and have a lot of different anime to base their opinion off of. Therefore, it might seem like they give it a more harsh rating than what you find it to be. They look for all the small details and plot holes to make their opinion. So don’t get turned down if something gets rated a lower score, if you want to go watch it, then watch it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Follow more Anime blogs/profiles on social media!! Just like with YouTube usually the way I get into a show i’ll see a picture of it on tumblr or somewhere and be like “hey! that looks so cool! i should watch it ooo” and there ya go. So find ways to get introduced to new things, and figure out what you would be interested in.
Start small. I suggest (very highly) to start off watching shorter anime like Zankyou No Terror or Ore Monogatari, that way you can get a good taste of what you like. You don’t want to jump into something like One Piece or Bleach and get invested in all hundreds of those episodes right away. Watch all the smaller ones first, then work your way up. And make sure to watch different types, don’t just stick to action or romance. Try different things, and go for things you usually wouldn’t watch. Try something new!!
Alright that’s all i’m going to give you right now. This is just a couple that i really enjoyed that I know anyone will probably enjoy just as well. The anime mentioned in all of the YouTube videos below are also ones i recommend to you, so watch em! Remember, start small and work your way up. A lot of people wait til summer or other vacations to get invested into longer anime, so that might work out well if you’re currently in school. If you want some anime from a specific genre, like romance or funny anime, just let me know. There is so much I left off of here, mainly because I wanted to give you something to start off with. If you’ve already seen most of these and/or want to know my personal list of some of my favorite anime aside from this list, ask me! So I might edit this later, and if you have any questions or my opinion on certain anime you want to start just let me know!! Here’s some links to help out with getting you started:
