Summary: Anakin isn't much of a softie, but he can't help but sympathie when his padawan has a bad dream.
WARNING: This is a tickle fic. It's also platonic.
Anakin Skywalker heard a faint shuffle from the corner of his bedroom. Feeling a sudden rush of annoyance and anger that he had been disrupted from his awesome dream, he sat up to take a look where it came from. Well, it was more that he jolted up. A Jedi had to have quick reflexes.
He rolled his eyes to see the small orange figure standing in the doorway. His new nuisance Padawan.
"What do you want Snips?", he grumbled, not at all trying to hide the frustration in his voice. Obiwan had often complained about Anakin being an annoying, needy Padawan when he was Ashoka's age - but there was no way he could have been as bad as her.
She sighed, "Sorry Anakin".
Anakin? Wow, she must have been in some sort of distress. He had to battle between his stubborn and sympathetic sides. The stubborn one seemed to be winning.
"What do you want Snips?", he repeated.
The Padawan yawned a little and sheepishly dragged her feet across the floor, "I just had a....not great dream. I was wondering if you could use your Jedi powers to....I don't know....do something with my mind so that I can relax again".
Uh-oh. Anakin's sympathetic side was fighting back. He himself had had many nightmares over the years, and he was somehow certain that his nightmares had always been more graphic and real than everyone else's. He would always wake up sweating, and shaking, and fighting back tears. Maybe it was a force sensitive thing.
Ashoka, on the other hand, seemed much more composed. Obviously she was hiding her feelings a little bit - either out of embarrassment or as not to disturb her master. Either way, Anakin knew exactly what she was talking about.
He rolled his eyes, "Come in"
Ashoka slowly crept into the room, watching as Anakin sat up and gestured for her to take an armchair beside his bed.
"Okay", he said, "What you just had was a Jedi nightmare. They suck".
She rubbed her chin a bit, slightly whimpering, "So? What can I do Skyguy?"
Skyguy. So she had calmed down a bit. Good.
"Well, I don't really know. Just get back to sleep?"
She blushed deep red, "I can't. Come on, can't you just use the force on me?"
Anakin smirked, "You mean choke you till you fall asleep"
"Not funny!", she responded, pushing his shoulder defiantly. Anakin chuckled and retaliated by poking her in the side. She squealed and bounced back.
For a few seconds there was silence. Anakin had never heard Ashoka make a sound like that before. Ashoka could see the gears turning in her master's head and, when all the pieces aligned, he let out the most evil grin. She felt herself blush deeply.
"You know", Anakin said, breaking the silence, "When I was being all grumpy, Obiwan would often use a very special technique to lighten me up a bit".
Ashoka feigned ignorance, feeling her heart pounding in her chest and desperately fighting the instinct to make a run for it.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh", Anakin responded, "Would you like me to demon-"
"No", Ashoka interrupted.
There was silence again.
"Alright, very well than", Anakin said, "Now you go back off to bed Padawan".
Huh? Sure, that was a lucky escape, but she still didn't like being dismissed like this. She needed her masters help, especially if he had had the same experience.
"Your not moving", Anakin commented, "Would you rather I-"
"No", she said again, starting to stumble off. She couldn't help but feel a bit droopy, trying not to show her disappointment in her face. And that was when she felt it.
A buzzing pressure, right on that spot Anakin had poked her. She screamed.
Anakin smirked as he watched Ashoka lose her balance and stumble to the floor.
"What is it Ashoka?", he asked cockily, seeing that she was fighting back a reaction, but looking like she was about to break. The Padawan clutched her sides, bit her lip, and shook, with little whimpers coming out every few seconds.
Anakin started to pity her a bit. He lifted his assault, allowing her to relax.
Ashoka stood up and glared at him.
"What?"
"You just tickled me with the force"
"Tickled you? I was merely giving you a soothing massage. You did tell me that you wanted me to use the force to help you feel better"
Ashoka strided toward him, trying to look all confident.
"You shouldn't be using the force like that. Obiwan told me it could lead to the Dark Side".
"By massaging people?"
"By tickling them"
"That wasn't my intention", Anakin clearly lied, his expression getting snarkier by the minute.
"Was to"
"Was not"
"Was to-hey!"
Anakin had bounded up to her and lifted her off her feet.
"Well now it certainly will be".
And, before Ashoka could protest, Anakin was digging his fingers into his padawan's side. Ashoka threw her head back and collapsed into laughter.
"Skyhyhyhyguy!"
"Yes?"
"Stohohohohop that".
Anakin chuckled, "Not a chance Snips. Now, let's see, where else are you sensitive?"
"Nohohohowhere! Plehehehase stahahawp!"
Anakin lifted his hand for a second, but kept wiggling his fingers above her. She kept squirming, not being able to stop a few giggles slipping out.
"What, I'm not even touching you", Anakin teased.
Ashoka tried to glare at him, but couldn't. Those hands were just inches away from her sides....
"Okay, so here's a new force trick I'd like to teach you", Anakin said, his voice becoming even more cocky, if that was even possible, "You won't tell me where your tickle spots are, so I'll just have to look into your mind"
Ashoka blushed deeply, the teasing making her die on the inside. She had definitely forgotten about her nightmare now. And, as much as she hated being tickled, she didn't mind it when it was Anakin. Particularly as it was nice to see her master lighten up and have a little fun.
That was when she felt a ghostly sensation above her ribs. Anakin's fingers were wiggling above them, threatening to land. She couldn't help it that her giggles became more frantic.
"I can sense from your mind that this might be a bad spot", Anakin said, as if he were recounting a scientific fact.
"Nohohoho", she giggled, "Not thehehere".
Anakin just shook his head, "You know, you need to learn to not wake me up in the middle of the night Snips".
And he dug in. She screeched and curled in on herself, tossing her head back and fourth as her ribs were ruthlessly poked, prodded and scribbled. This had always been a particularly bad spot for her.
"I think I hit the jackpot", he chuckled, not being able to stop himself from melting at the look of pure careless joy on his padawan's face. It was impossible not to smile when she did.
"EHEHEHEHEEE!", she cried, "IT TIHIHIHICKLES!"
Anakin rolled his eyes, "That's kind of the whole point Snips". Experimenting, he spidered his fingers down to her belly. Her laughter got a bit less frantic, but it was just as fast, and she even let out a few snorts.
"Skyhyhyyhyhyguy", she laughed.
Anakin raised an eyebrow, "Yes?"
"I'm tihihihired".
Anakin let up, keeping Ashoka in his arms as residual giggles slipped from her lips. With a tender feeling in his heart, he carried his young Padawan off to her bed. She was already falling asleep, that same smile on her face.
Yes, Ashoka could be annoying, but she could also be fun. He was looking forward to training her.
