               getting insu to stay the night had been nothing short of a miracle, and inha isn’t going to take it for granted. she knows they aren’t dating or anything, knows they aren’t exclusive in the slightest, but she cares about him a lot, and she likes to think they’re friends by now. she’s made sure to wake up before him, knowing he’ll most likely be out the door the second he wakes up, so she only has limited time to work. so, trying to be as quiet as possible, she slides out of the bed and tiptoes into the kitchen to get to work...

        the night before had been quite... intense, to say the least. it wasn’t rare for the two to fall into intimate moments of that sort whenever they were together, which meant that she had also developed a bit of a habit in the mornings that followed. waking up a little earlier than him, sooah softly rubbed the small of hojin’s back and pressed a light kiss to his temples in an attempt to stir him awake in a gentle manner.  “ good morning, baby. ”

      “...  my  family  will  be  in  town  for  the  new  year’s  …”  she  begins,  cautious;  it’s  a  line  she’s  rehearsed  in  her  head  since  she’d  heard  of  their  coming,  waiting  for  just  the  right  moment  to  bring  it  up  with  the  other.  ivy  can’t  tell  if  she’s  found  it  exactly,  yet  she  bravely  pushes  forward,  fingers  curling  ‘round  daeho’s  wrist  and  squeezing,  gentle.  “if  you  —  if  you  want,  you  can  meet  them  …  spend  your  new  year  here  instead  of,  well  …”  anywhere  else,  she  means  to  say;  why  stay  anywhere  else  in  the  first  place,  when  she’s  made  it  so  clear  that  what’s  hers  is  his,  too  ?

                     there it is. his cheek, so smooth, so clear, so ready to be bruised. she can already feel the sting on her knuckles and she hasn’t even made a move yet. she hates how tempting it is-- she’d be letting him win if she hit him, proving him right. but he was. she DID want to punch him, she still does. she always does. with brows furrowed, she grabs the collar of his shirt, pulling him so close that he could probably smell traces of her perfume and vice versa ( did he wear any? ). “you really think i’d just do as you say?” her fist is already clenched at her side but she’d rather wait for his answer before she decides that she actually doesn’t care if he’s got her spot on with his interpretation of who she was.

“...  HALLOWEEN  ?”  he  repeats,  eyebrows  winkled  in  deep  thought.  “no  ––  i  don’t  have  any  plans.”  well  ––  he  DOES,  but  he  supposes  spending  the  night  at  the  animal  shelter  isn’t  quite  synonymous  to  the  plans  the  other  has  in  mind.  but  milo  offers  jiwon  a  smile  regardless,  tentative  as  he  shuffles  through  last  minute  schoolwork  inside  messenger  bag.  “why’re  you  asking  ?”

Last minute business trips left a bad taste in his mouth, but he wasn’t in a position to tell his boss that he wanted more notice. They needed him, and that was all there was to it. The usual person he had watching his pets was unavailable, leading him into a last minute, frantic scramble to find someone who could take over. Not that he was complaining; it meant he got to see the cute guy from the Halloween party again.

He opened the door to his apartment at the knock, ushering Jiwon in with a wave of his hand. “Hey! Look who it is. It’s the jack-o-lantern that lit up the room.” Head tilted as he smiled. “And look at you, still lighting up the room.” Cheesy? Yup. Was he ashamed? Not in the least – even if those sorts of pickup lines were outside of his usual wheelhouse.

“Can I get you something? A beer? Soda? Water? I don’t know I he told you or not, but I have a cat, Seulgi and a spider named Seojin. You don’t really have to do anything with the spider other than make sure her light stays on and that she has food. You don’t have to touch her or anything; I know some people freak out…” He smiled then, gesturing toward a black cat that was staring hard from the doorway to his bedroom. “That one though? She’s a brat and needs all the affection. Do you think you’ll be able to help? I’m pretty desperate. I’ll make it worth your while, and even bring you back a present from my trip.”
