“ well, you have a lot of reason to distrust me, ” she responds, her voice taking on a sharp, lilting quality. she doesn't move from her spot near the door, keeping her fingers linked loosely behind the flat line of her skirt. “ one, i’m a complete stranger. two, you’re going to be in a very vulnerable position as you change clothes. three, i have a camera right there... and four. ” she pauses for exactly a beat as if she is running through a list of calculations in her head, before letting a small, bright giggle fall from her lips to break the tension she just built. she frames the words as a joke, a harmless bit of theater to disguise the cold, deliberate appetite that has been dictating her weeks. “ but it’ll be stupid for me to do anything, when everyone knows who you were last with. don’t you think ? ” she uses the question as a flimsy license to turn her head, her gaze skipping across his skin because the real thing is simply too close to ignore. “ oh, sorry, ” she says quickly, pivoting back toward the wood of the doorframe before her expression can expose the sudden, warm greed rising in her chest. “ i swear i didn’t see anything. ”
