It was nerve-wracking enough just trying to pretend that everything was alright when the gangster had no idea what was going on with her body. She had been fairly truthful so far in telling Viper everything about the sudden illness that she had been inflicted with.
That was until someone had brought up something that should not have been a possibility, there was no way that it could be true. Yet here she was, fresh out of options as she tensely waited for the test to finish. Sarah hoped that Viper would remain out while she got the result. This wasn’t exactly something she wanted him to know about even if- WHEN the result came back false. She didn’t want him to believe that she didn’t trust his word, but she was desperate at that point.
When she came back from her thoughts, she hastily stood up and grabbed the test, before staring at it in a stunned shock, even as she heard the door open behind her.
How could Viper possibly know what was going on? Far as he was concerned, he was the errand boy that occasionally got work to do. Today had been one of those days when he’d actually managed to get a job. He returned to Star’s little hideout of choice sporting a black eye and a plastic bag full of groceries. Mint, tea, Pepto....things he heard were good for an upset stomach. In truth, he had no idea of why he was doing this. It’s not like he owed it to Sarah or anything...
Maybe he just wanted her to stop whining about it or something.
He was busy reading over one of the bottles when he walked in the door, walking right up to Star as though nothing were wrong. Medicine was weird. With a scoff, he dropped it back in the bag and held the whole thing out, hand on his hip.
“Here. Just kinda grabbed whatever, honestly. I ain’t a doc, so I’ll leave th’details up t’you.”
