"Very little." Stathis admitted, still embarrassed. Despite that, he was eager at the prospect of finally learning. "And most of what I know, well.. all, actually, is Greek."
Leslie perked at an idea, tapping his card on the counter. But first, "How long do you usually have, popping between places?"
"Would you really?" He asked almody immediately, excitement in his eyes. It didn't last long though before being replaced by a dejected look.
"I... um... I don't know how long until... until I get dragged away again..."
"Guess that means we should get started." He'd fend off that discouraged look for as long as possible if it was within his power. Poor man had enough on his plate.
One more bite of eggs and mushroom, he turned his business card around to see for himself. Turned it back.
"How much do you know already?"
"Cell phones and I don't get along so well." Stathis said with an embarrassed looking smile. "I was never entirely able to figure them out." A moment later and he added, with even more obvious embarrassment, "And I'm not sure how much help a business card would be.. I.. never actually found the time to learn how to read..."
Leslie stared for perhaps a second too long. His instinctual response was immediate, and came out of his mouth before he could stop himself.
"I can help... you. If - If you want. Before you pop away again. Just... if you... want. Do you want something to drink? I asked that already. Sorry," he sighed, forcing himself to turn and busy his hands.
"I'll definitely remember that next time I find myself around here." Stathis smiled warmly, honestly enjoying Leslie's company. He wouldn't mind sticking around for a while this time. He honestly hoped the magic would let him.
"Well," Leslie continued, his smile more permanent now, "you came here with your clothes on. Guess that means I can give you a business card? Or if you bother with cell phones - that would be difficult, wouldn't it?"
