RADIO STATIC PHILLY RECOMMENDED RELEASE OF THE WEEK Fight Amp “Constantly Off”
We’ve done a ton of coverage on Fight Amp‘s latest release “Constantly Off” click here, here and here to see what I’m talking about. To reiterate and reinforce the previous takes on their latest effort, it’s by far the heaviest and sludgiest tracks the band has put forth, yet! It’s Philadelphia Noise Rock at it’s best! We have one of the test presses on vinyl on it’s way which is getting the Vinyl Wednesday treatment once it’s here! There are still some test presses left along with 200 black and 300 yellow variants still in stock! If you wanted pink you’re shit out of luck, sorry dude!

Blue Smiley “OK”
Jangly, bass driven, grungy, shoegaze that has a ton of experimental aspects that will absolutely pique your interest. Upbeat in a dark kind of way Blue Smiley curates an album of killer fuzzy tracks that fucking rock! Tempo shifts and haunting progressions that are so tension filled it’s borderline uncomfortable at some points, all in a good way of course!

Jeff Linden and The Black Spot Society “Strange Things Can Happen At Sea”
Folky, punk rock that has musical aspects that really make this album really shine! The hooks are extremely catchy as they build up each song on this effort! The inclusion of piano, mandolin, accordion and other instruments add so much to this album. Probably one of the more interesting folk punk records I’ve heard this year!

Thee Nosebleeds “Fire (Live)”
The Nosebleeds release another live effort that is raw, rough and completely in your face at all points! Their metal/punk rock sound is riddled with catchy riffs and gritty vocal work that is sure get you up and moving! Everything about this recording is right fucking on!

Sovereign “The World Takes”
Sovereign gets really nerdy about their latest gear, so much to the point that they re-recorded all of the guitars on their 2014 release “The World Takes” to give you a better feel for their live show! All the songs are the same, but the whole album has been remixed to better represent their band as a whole! Definitely not the same album! Press play now!

Static Mountain “Silver & Gold”
Spacey, psychedelic rock that starts off with some really killer bagpipes and moves through multiple progressions through out! Harmonized vocals add to the catchiness, off time drum beats add some interest as the bass drives the song and the guitars intermittently add a kill rock vibe! Solid track from this killer psych band!
