alastor loved vox as much as someone like him could love anyone. I believe part of their split was alastor’s repulsion to his own feelings. whether his partnership with vox was founded genuinely or by deceit, alastor developed a feeling. a feeling so foreign and out of his control that when he found out vox saw him in the same way, all that alastor could feel was disgust, and yet he was pulled towards him like he was a beacon. to stop any notion of that silly feeling, he withdrew, and bitterly so.

if vox had the audacity to stir up feelings alastor thought he could bury, he would strike back. make him regret showing him a sentiment that was so foreign and repulsive.
