What do you look for when you decide to follow a dj? Great production skills, entertaining stage presence, and consistent bookings? If those are your three criteria, you'll be extremely pleased with our feature artist of the week, the electrifying duo known as Static & Bass. With a west coast tour under their belt and residencies at some of the hottest clubs in NYC, Static & Bass are no strangers to success. We love all DJ's but we greatly respect those that don't restrict themselves to one subset of electronic music. We kid you not, these guys can do it all. Electro-prog-trance-tech house? Ever heard of it? To be honest, we haven't either but that's how innovative these guys are. It is natural for fans to gravitate and groove to songs that they are familiar with. However, Static & Bass have the innate ability to drive a crowd wild through their diverse style while dropping tracks that will blow your mind. Lucky for you, (and us) they will be opening for international superstar, Deniz Koyu, this Friday, 4/5, at the legendary Pacha NYC. We HIGHLY suggest you attend to experience this high-octane duo and their unique sound for yourselves. Meanwhile, get to know them through this week's feature which includes their set from Pacha NYC in December with Ferry Corsten.

1. Introduce yourself in one simple sentence. My name is Rai Sarion, I'm Eric Chen, and we are Static & Bass.

2. There are so many up-and-coming EDM DJ's. What sets you guys apart? As DJ's and producers we are willing to experiment. We like to mix up several different genres in our tracks as well as our sets. Recently we have been very inspired from all types of music and it really shows in our recent productions.

3. You've already opened for some big names. Who was your favorite artist to perform with and why?  

We really had to think about this but we have to say, Alex Mind. He was a really cool dude and we hung out with him for a few days before our gig. We have a lot of respect for him as a producer. His productions are so inspirational to us that to be able to spin with him was a dream come true.

4. We recently fell in love with your remix of Bones, the track from the Game of Thrones trailer. Could we expect more tracks like this in the near future? Absolutely. The track is a perfect example of what we've been doing in the studio lately. It's very House driven as a whole but the main breakdown melody is derived from our love for Trance. We tried to make the drop a bit more techy as well, to change up our usual complextro style.

We are just all about trying new things right now and you can definitely expect that to be a reoccurring theme with our upcoming productions.

5. Collaborations and tag team dj sets are becoming more common. What's the main reason why you both decided to become Static & Bass, the team, as opposed to individual artists?

Truth is we are a team, we look out for each other, inspire one another and we have fun doing it. This is what its all about, whats the point of it all if you can't share it with your friends?
