I'm trying to raise funds so I can go to grad school (America isn't being kind to science right now, and a lot of places are feeling it). I have somewhere to go, but they don't have funding for me.
Long post, so I'll post the link with the short explanation first, and anyone who wants to read the long version can look under the cut. Thank you in advance.

Hiya folks!
My name is Nico, I’m 28, and I’m trying to go to grad school. The only problem? My program doesn’t have funding for me. My application is being held in a stasis because they don’t accept students without funding, but they don’t want to reject me. I’ve been trying to find sources of funding, but the applicable scholarships require proof of acceptance for applicants.
I’ve been caught in a catch 22.
I’m a saver, a hard worker, and a stubborn dreamer. I started saving up for college in the 1st grade when I knew I wanted to be a scientist. I’ve been working multiple jobs since I was 14 to try and add to those savings since I’m a twin and I knew my sister and I would be hard to afford at the same time. I’ve managed to get far on stubbornness and dreams, I fulfilled the requirements of two majors while working throughout college to help fund my studies and I even managed to find work adjacent to my field. I’ve worked at a museum since graduating during the pandemic, and I survived the major budget cuts to scientific institutions in recent years.
I will persist, but now I need help.
In order to show funding for my degree, I need to gather the cost of tuition. $12,000 in total. I’m confident that, if I can raise these funds, then I can cover the rest of my costs with my savings, a part time job, and the possible scholarships I’ll be allowed to apply to upon acceptance into the program. I’ll be scraping by, and I know a Master’s degree is no easy feat when done on its own without a second job, but I also know I will manage.
Please trust me when I say I can do this.
I need help with the first hurdle and I can take it from there. I will fight and claw my way to the end, and I will send my research paper to anyone who wants to read it. I just need your help to get started. Please consider leaving a donation or spreading the word, and if you’ve read this far, thank you. I appreciate each and every one of you.
First ever attack is of @staryleo 's awesome slimy salamander dragon!! I tried to match wing patterns off of a firefly, and spotting patterns/body off of a yellow spotted salamander. I live for his lil barbels and glowing tail.
