   “so, all the higher ranks ain’t home - you know what this fuckin’ means, right?” and by higher ranks she means those like coulson and may and all the other over-administering hoarde. truth be told, she’s got no issues whatsoever with the former two ; she merely isn’t too fond of how strict the rest of the suits can be around the base. with most of them awol for the evening, she cusps the concept of fellow-inhuman-bonding and bears it on her sleeve as she starts to roam around. she’s gotten along well with daisy, hasn’t really hung out much with the walking livewire, so he’s the next on her list. “---the xbox is all ours. c.o.d rounds, lincoln, let’s go.”

          breaking      /      she is crumbling,  shattering into a mess of emotion on the floor of the zephyr.     the feed is gone,  the ship is gone     /     mack is just....     gone.     it was supposed to be her     ------------     it should have been her.     this was her vision,  her prophecy     /     mack was the closest thing daisy had to a sibling,  an older brother of sorts.     he was her partner,  one of her best friends.     he didn’t deserve this.      he deserved so much better,  he deserved to be happy and to live a long and happy life.     he deserved it more than she did,  after everything she’s done to hurt so many people     /     people she cares about.     people she loves.     

          “no,  don’t   ----   just leave me alone,”     she can barely speak through the cries practically suffocating her     /     she can hardly even catch her breath.     the tears spill from dark eyes.     coulson pulls his hand back after trying to comfort her and gives a saddened glance to the rest of his team.     daisy has turned away from the others, just wishing they would all leave,  seeing as she doesn’t even think she has the strength to stand up to her feet.     /     @statiiic

Whatever the words Fitz needs are, they aren’t coming. The noise and the chaos could be heard all across the base. So far, he’d broken four glasses in the lab, shoved a monitor off of a table and dropped it to the ground, and now he had taken to punching the wall, over, and over, and over, and OVER again.

His hands are trembling, knuckles scratched up and bleeding. No one has dared come near him as he yells and cries and screams. If anything, they’re too afraid of Fitz lashing out at them, afraid of an errant fist hitting them if they even tried to calm Fitz down.

Fitz is so lost in his thoughts, in his frustration, that he doesn’t hear when someone comes into the lab to help him. Tears are stinging his eyes. His knuckles are scratched and bleeding and bruised, his hands shaking.

Whoever has come in, they grab him by the shoulder, pulling him away from the wall. He swings a fist, unintentionally, nearly punching whoever it is right in the face. Lincoln. It’s Lincoln. His heartbeat is pounding in his ears, a roaring almost, overwhelming him to the point where he can’t hear whatever Lincoln is saying to him.

Adrenaline is starting to wear thin, and Fitz sways on his feet, shaky hands grabbing onto Lincoln’s for support to keep himself standing.
