You know, there's no reason we couldn't start building a Dyson Ring now. We could probably launch a 10x10 m statite into solar orbit for under a billion. Using that and a few others as a proof of concept, a skeleton of solar collection statites could be launched from Luna to begin transmitting energy back to Terra.
